Summary; There's no legal drinking age in the City, but who says we can't party like there was one anyway?

This party was four years coming. The restaurant has set aside a large room just for this event and on short notice too. The food is plentiful and of various cuisines, with even a large selection of vegetarian options for those who prefer that. But of course, there is more alcohol than one has ever seen because Angela knows the people she invited and knows quite a few of them have liquor in their veins instead of blood. Rule of thumb: more liquid than solids every time.

Everything's set and ready for the birthday girl to make her appearance, so for the time being, Angela's flitting around the place dressed in more subdued colors than usual, choosing black because no one gets to stand out more than Ginny tonight, and socializing with the few guests that have shown up already.

Sadly, there are no strippers. Ginny nixed that one hard.

[ Clary moves closer and hugs her in greeting, a happy smile on her face. ] Happy Birthday! And no way was I leaving you to be the only ginger.

[ She grins, then hands over her present. Inside a box is a locket. Inside the locket is a rune that Clary has drawn and fitted to the necklace itself. It's almost an inside joke even though she isn't sure Ginny knows what she is. But she liked the idea of it all the same. She can't put marks on her friends but she can do something to protect them. Even if she's not sure it'll work. ] Are you having fun?

[hexuality]

[She accepts the gift with a smile and a murmured thank you but doesn't open it just yet, focusing on the conversation at hand, smiling.]

I'm having loads of fun. Everyone looks happy, fed, what's not to be pleased about? How are you?

I'm good! [ Her smile is bright and happy and even if things with Jace are a little weird right now she still has the best of friends. ]

I've missed having a reason to go out.

[hexuality]

Well, after this, let's you, me, and Mae go and do something. It'll be fun. I know a great place to go dancing?

That sounds amazing, let's do that!

[hexuality]

[She laughs.]

Great! It's a plan. We'll get all dressed up and fluster some boys.

[ Blushing. ]

I don't think I have anything fluster-worthy in my wardrobe.

[hexuality]

What, you think I own this dress?

[She grins.]

We'll find something. If anything, I'll do a bit of spellwork and we'll make it happen another way.

I have the best friends.

[ She grins, then takes Ginny's arm. ] Let's go find something delicious.

[hexuality]

You mean everything.

[She follows along, smiling.]

We've got loads of different food but Stiles made cupcakes and Spock made my birthday cake! Chocolate. I only got a taste of the icing but it was really good. The cupcakes are delicious.

I had enough trouble getting into this dress, if I eat cupcakes I may not get out.

[hexuality]

Careful, some dashing bloke but overhear and offer to help.

Well, dashing or smarmy, then.

[ A startled laugh. ]

Yeah, not going to happen.

Is it because of Jace?

[cupio]

I think he'd protest.

[hexuality]

I think I'd protest his protestations.

[ She thinks of how things have been different since they got to the City. How Jace barely speaks to her. It makes her smile falter for a moment before she's straightening up. ]

I would too.

[hexuality]

Hey. [Smile fading a bit into something a bit more concerned.] Is everything alright?

[cupio]

Yeah.

[ Not really, but this is Ginny's birthday party and Clary doesn't have all that many friends. She doesn't want to ruin it. ]

[hexuality]

[She shoots her a look, scrutinising and concerned all at once.]

You'd tell me if you needed anything? You know you can.

I would.

[ It's still a party though. ] C'mon, let's go find people to harass.

[hexuality]

Best idea I've heard all night.

[cupio]

How are you enjoying it?

It's all a bit overwhelming, honestly, but I love it. I didn't expect so many people!

You have a lot of friends, of course this place was going to fill up quickly.
