Summary; There's no legal drinking age in the City, but who says we can't party like there was one anyway?

This party was four years coming. The restaurant has set aside a large room just for this event and on short notice too. The food is plentiful and of various cuisines, with even a large selection of vegetarian options for those who prefer that. But of course, there is more alcohol than one has ever seen because Angela knows the people she invited and knows quite a few of them have liquor in their veins instead of blood. Rule of thumb: more liquid than solids every time.

Everything's set and ready for the birthday girl to make her appearance, so for the time being, Angela's flitting around the place dressed in more subdued colors than usual, choosing black because no one gets to stand out more than Ginny tonight, and socializing with the few guests that have shown up already.

Sadly, there are no strippers. Ginny nixed that one hard.

[He shakes her hand even though that is totally not the done thing in his books, especially kids their age.]

Yeah its been a uh, interesting week? I'm just coming to terms with everything, its been pretty easy though. [He laughs.] Yeah I'm pretty sure that's why I was brought here.

[Look, Ginny is polite. And an ~adult~. At least, that's what happens when you arrive in the City at sixteen and now you're celebrating you're twenty-first birthday.]

Well, you've met me. I don't know what you've heard, but I promise I'm terribly boring. [But she says it with such a teasing smile because what is a modest Weasley, really?] And if you need anything, let me know, alright? I've been here long enough to know a thing or two.

[outofthefreezer]

[He can't help but smile properly at her, must be one of those infectious things.]

Really? How long have you been around? [He then asks her something he has been curious about.]

What do people do around here?

Er, four years, about. Don't worry, it doesn't happen a lot.

[She raises her brows at the question, then looks thoughtful.]

Well. Whatever you're interested in, I suppose? I go to work but I offer flying lessons, too. I'm fairly busy with making the products for the joke shop, not nearly enough to not have fun with my friends, though. I'm only twenty-one, after all.

Wow... you've been here a long time. [He seems intrigued.]

Flying lessons? Scott said that I should get a job a couple times but uh, I'm not sure if its my thing?

[hexuality]

Yeah. Bad luck.

[She smiles.]

Yeah, flying lessons on the couple of broomsticks I've got. [She pauses.] D'you like magic? You could always help us out at the joke shop. It's the least job-like job I can think of—maybe it'll be your "thing."

[That's potentially one of the most worrying things he's heard, the idea of being here for such a long time. His ears prick at the next sentence though, considering the only magic he'd witnessed was the kind that killed people.]

Uh no, magic really isn't my thing either...

[hexuality]

Cash register? Moving boxes and stocking shelves?

[She smiles, shrugging.]

Just something to keep in mind. Sometimes fireworks go off inside the shop, though. They're harmless.

[Isaac seems to realize that what Ginny was talking about was a long way off the Druid magic he was more used to seeing.]

Sounds interesting, I'll have to check it out some time.

[She never thought that there might be something wrong or weird about her magic beyond the ordinary bewilderment that she sometimes gets. She knows Mae distrusted it when they first met because of her world's history of it. If she knew what Isaac was thinking, she'd explain.

As it is, she just smiles, pleased.]

Good man. Now, have you gone and had something to eat?

[He grins because he was learning that Ginny was incredibly friendly.]

Yeah uh, I tried some things... [Some which looked more interesting than others but it was nice being welcomed at this girl who he barely knew's party.]

[She's a Weasley. They're ridiculously friendly.]

Of course, Isaac. [LOOK. She's good at remembering names, too!] Make yourself at home and if you need anything, just find me.

Yeah. Thanks, Ginny. [Really he wouldn't forget her name because he asked Stiles it about fifty times before he came.]
