There's a Drumming Noise Inside My Head That Starts When You're Around
When: Weekend of 9/7 - 9/8
Rating: TV-14
Characters: Lydia
lefthandedgenius and YOU.
Summary: Grab Bag Curse Weekend: Ghost World. Not all reunions are good.
Notes: Are you a supernatural being? Please see the OOC note at the end of the IC log intro. Network responses are okay!
Log:
The day began straightforwardly enough. A morning trip to the library, followed by lounging in a cafe to enjoy the books she's collected. A bit of shopping. What else is Lydia going to do with her time?
But since she woke up she's had the pervasive feeling that someone is watching her. She's been ignoring that raised hair feeling at the back of her neck, because it's not the same as the feeling she gets when she senses death, not exactly...she just wants to have a normal day.
But it gets worse. In the library she could swear she hears someone whispering her name, and no one is ever there. At the cafe, she thinks she sees someone at the corner of her eye, but when she turns to look they are gone.
She doesn't realize it when she finds herself, shopping bags abandoned somewhere along the way, at the abandoned shed in Xanadu.
"Lyyyyyydiaaaaaa..."
She turns this way and that, trying to see the form in shadow. She knows who it sounds like now, but how can he be here? He can't be here. For a moment she chokes, and the half-burned form of Peter Hale moves toward here, where she can see every inch of his bloody, horribly mangled flesh and she can't move.
"Lydia," his smile is terrible, half of his cheek ripped away and she can see the bown where his teeth are set, the canines slightly longer than the others, "Oh, Lydia, I need you so much. I'm going to have such fun with you. You're never going to leave me again, you beautiful creature."
And that's when Lydia screams.
[OOC: Lydia can obviously be heard by anyone nearby, however, any being of supernatural origin especially Beacon Hills werewolves, will hear her scream from anyplace in the City. Tag in (or not) at leisure!]

[His immediate response is clearly inhuman and pissed.] BE QUIET!!!

The network flickers on, and Lydia's tear stained face becomes apparent. She keeps checking over her shoulder, terrified. Despite herself though, she manages to produce some disdain in her tone.]
So sorry to have inconvenienced you.
no subject
[Regain of composure and switch to text.] My apologies.
no subject
how did u hear me
r u a werewolf?

Then the noise.]
Shit!

I need you with me, Lydia. I need you. You're going to bring me here. Can't you taste the death on your tongue?
[Lydia gazes in horror at the walking corpse - a corpse no one can see but her as she gets up to her feet.]
You're not here. You can't be here. You're not real!
no subject
Is this what making his heart steel is about?]
Hey!
[Rather than blindly running off he picks up the pace trying to hear out where?]
Hello?
no subject
I won't go with you. I'm not helping you again! I'm not going to let you hurt them!
no subject
...Lydia?
[He looks left, then he looks right. Creepy little place.]
Who's here?
no subject
Peter Hale. [It comes out with a stutter.] He's right there!
[Peter is smiling at her like he's going to swallow her whole.]
Who's your friend, Lydia? Should I take him too?
Leave him alone!
no subject
Let's get out of here.
[She's crouched low so he stoops and puts both hands on her shoulders.]
Come on.
no subject
He won't let me leave.
no subject
[Because he cannot see who is menacing her. Roman looks all around again.]
You gotta try.
no subject
(She's something.)
Standing on her feet and leaning a little bit against Roman, she starts toward the door.]
Lydia! LYDIA! Where are you going?! You can't leave me here!
[She flinches just a few inches short of the door.]
I can't. He'll hurt me. Or someone else.
no subject
I don't see anyone else here.
[There's no delicate way to put that.]
You really want to stay here?
[Roman may not get girls much but it is very clear that she's distressed and it won't do her good sticking around here.]
no subject
[She's insistent about that. And then, emphatically,]
I really don't.
[But Peter - the Peter only she can see - is keeping her here.]
If you leave me now, Lydia, I'll kill them all.
He says he'll kill all my friends if I leave.
no subject
[That c word really does rile people. Impatiently he grabs a piece of wood that had been used to board the windows. Now it is falling apart. Roman turns it over in his hand.]
So... where is he?
[He's brandishing it like a baseball bat. Because that's a great idea.]
no subject
no subject
Did I-? [WHACK!] Get him-? [WHACK! WHACK! WHACK!]
no subject
I think...I think. [She stares.] He's a ghost.
This doesn't necessarily solve my problem. I've seen what ghosts can do.
no subject
Shit. He might have a splinter now.]
So what's that mean?
no subject
It means he can still get into my friends' heads, make them do things. But I'm not going to let him.
You hear me? I'm going to tell them all to look out for you. You won't hurt them, we're too smart for you.
[To Roman,]
Let's go.
[Still, she wonders where the pack is.]
no subject
Okay.
[Roman feels like he should take her hand or put an arm around her but Lydia seems to have this much under control.]
Right behind you.
no subject
Lydia, what are you doing? You can't leave me. I need you. I need you more than anyone else. If you leave me now, I'll follow you. I'll follow you and I'll punish you. I'll fool them all, I'll turn them against each other, make them tear each other apart. Would you like to see that? See Allison shoot Isaac? Scott with Stiles' entrails in his mouth? Listen to me, Lydia...
No.
Lydia, what are you doing? Where are you going? Don't defy me! Lydia! LYDIA!
[Lydia steps out the door.]
no subject
There are ghosts here? She-iit.]
We're cool.
[Out right behind her. For a second he expects something to happen.]
no subject
We're cool.
[But her progress is slow, and she keeps taking quick looks over her shoulder.]
Thanks for believing me.
