I've Walked These Streets In A Carnival [Closed]

When; During the Carnival
Rating; PG-13
Characters; Lydia Martin [personal profile] lefthandedgenius and Peter Rumancek [personal profile] velveteenwolf
Summary; Peter takes Lydia to the carnaval; wins all the the things for her.
Log;

Lydia strolls down the midway with Peter at her side. She actually kind of loves carnivales; the chaotic atmosphere, the riot of color and light and sounds and smells. Peter had picked up her desire to go with an uncanny intuition, and she wonders if he is marveling at her easy acceptance of his werewolf nature. Lydia's had a lot of practice when it comes to the weird.

At the moment she's carrying one of those red and white striped boxes of popcorn and after availing herself to some, she holds it out in offering to her escort.

"So I'm on the lookout for a giraffe." she tells him, with eyes green and bright, full of mirth.

It's interesting, how she just seems to not even be phased by the fact that he's a werewolf. Of course, aide from the whole fear-mongering in relation to a string of particularly ugly murders, the reaction Peter gets from people is usually positive. But, Lydia isn't the sort of person that usually is blunt enough to get that revelation out of him, so once he'd been coherent enough to reflect back on all of it, he'd been pretty surprised there hadn't been screaming.

Peter was all about uncanny intuition; he blamed it on being a gypsy, because that usually made people smile, but truthfully, it had a lot to do with his swadisthana chakra. The pulse, currents of the universe, whether it was this one or back home. Peter takes some popcorn, grinning wolfishly as he devours it.

This isn't a date. Peter wouldn't know what to do with a date, but he does look a little bit cleaned up, at least. He's still scruffy, and his clothes still look worn-in, somehow, like they might have been hand-me-downs or hard-won finds from a thrift store. But, he's got on a button-down shirt, cords instead of denims, and a vest that comes close to matching. It at least speaks to trying, if nothing else.

"Ask and you'll receive. See, these games are easy once you know the tricks. And being a gypsy, I was born knowing them. It's genetics."

Probably a misuse of the actual meaning of genetics, but science, or really, anything learned in a classroom isn't Peter's strong suit.
