A part of her does know it's pointless to try, knows that nothing she does will change the outcome of what's happened, but the corridor seems to stretch infinitely and the spells are flying through the air (a sickening bolt of emerald narrowly misses her and hits the wall behind her, it's singed off some of her hair) and she can't get to her family.
