→ turkey is a winter delicacy, of course
When: November 28th.
Rating: PG-13 ( please post if your thread rating goes higher than this! )
Characters: Yours.
Summary: Turkey day ! What do you have to be thankful for? The lack of zombies? The fact that you've survived another year here in City - central? The abundance of leftovers? Well, the Anonymous Movement is here to help you celebrate and maybe try to understand the importance of the turkey thing.
LOG: The City Academy is all lit up today - music and chatter leaking from the dining room, the smell of food a tempting trail of breadcrumbs. The gymnasium is warm and inviting, instead of sports equipment there are tables covered in white table cloths, candle light flickering at each of them. It's to accommodate each of the City members, obviously designed to create a nice, mingling atmosphere. There are no name cards, no specific places. Take a seat, enjoy the feast.
The food itself is impressive, tables piled high with dishes of hot, piping food. It's not just Earth's delicacy either - there are plates from all sorts of places, strange wobbling jellies and black squiggling looking things - but most of them have been taste tested. By Eloise's lizard kittens, but they're all alive, that's a good thing.
Each citizen has been sent an invite for tonight - a request that they bring along a food from their own home, a potluck of every universe. Come, be merry, be thankful.

I promise to stay out of your bed--and to knock.
[ Capitulating much too easily. ]
The rest of your crew, do they live with you?
no subject
Chakotay and B'Elanna do. Harry's staying with Ensign Chekov from the Enterprise for the time being. [ the tension between his commanding officers drove the young operations officer to get the hell out of dodge. ]

Oho, Harrykim is here? How wonderful. But dear me, Kathy, is it really the best idea to be bedding down with the little people? And Chuckles too.
[ Then again what better defense against unwanted nighttime visitors but a protective First Officer? ]
no subject
[ messing with harry kim is the worst life choice you could make right now, q. ]
I'm not bedding down with any of them. Anyone, for that matter.
no subject
Of course not, of course not. I know that. But oh, the uncomfortable pauses you must have to endure.

[ she doesn't answer him, just keeps walking. of course, not answering him might as well be an answer in and of itself, as the tension in that apartment has been threatening to boil over for a while now in regards to herself and how her overprotective first officer regards her. ]

[ only janeway would roll her eyes in annoyance instead of snapping in defense of her propriety at such an insinuation. ]
Last I checked, I didn't exactly fit the bill of the antiquated idea of a damsel in distress. If I need saving, I'll be saving myself — so thanks, but no thanks.

[ Gentle needling, that's all. Teasing because he can. And who knows, he might end up doing exactly that, sweeping in the knight in shining armour--that is his style. ]
Are we nearly there yet?
no subject
Why, tired of walking? Is it too beneath a Q to make use of the legs you're stuck with?

They haven't been invented yet. Just wait until you see the elevator. You didn't care much for it last time.
no subject
[ He keeps up, though, showing no sign that he might turn away from what is much more a pursuit than a gentle stroll. ]
no subject
After you.

I hope this doesn't take long. I'm claustrophobic, you know.
[ True when he wants it to be. But here he is, being very brave, with no idea what's about to happen. Again. ]
no subject
I'm sure you'll survive the experience.
[ stepping inside after him, she hits the button for their floor and leans back against the box to enjoy the ride — not that she does, she hates these prehistoric things about as much as he does, but does she show it? nope. never. #pokerface ]
no subject
Absolutely no problem. Don't know what the fuss was all about.
[ Officially never using an elevator again. ]
no subject
[ his reaction is so human it's almost endearing; amusing at the very least. she keeps her amusement to herself, making a more graceful exit from the elevator. even the locking mechanisms on the doors are primitive, and janeway has to fish a key out of her pocket to unlock the door with. she holds the door open. ]
Are you coming inside or not?
no subject
You're inviting me in?
[ Well okay, he wasn't going to argue himself out of that. Q steps in, a little more wary thanks to his experience with the elevator, and taking a good look around her living room. ]
Cozy.
[ Well, not especially, but it wasn't her quarters on Voyager either. ]
no subject
It's not the first time you've been inside, you just don't remember.
[ if there was anything remotely cozy about the place, it was thanks to chakotay, not her or b'elanna. her bedroom was pretty much bare beyond the essentials, a closet full of clothes, and the projects on her desk. otherwise, it might as well be a hotel room. ]
no subject
[ Really. Anything that isn't the inside of a comet is cozy. Now then. Q steps in a little further, investigating only as far as five steps might take him, though he's eager to poke his head through all the doors and see what's beyond them. ]
It isn't so bad. Where do you sleep?

I only want to see if it's better than your Starfleet issue bunk.
no subject
The was nothing wrong with my Starfleet issue bunk. [ this bed is comfortable, but she misses that one. because that one was hers. it was fit for a captain, not part of a furnished apartment.
turning the handle, she swings the door open for him to see. ] Satisfied?
no subject
Wait for it.
A confused: ] Oh. Ow. [ Pinching the bridge of his nose. ] Oh come on! I didn't even do anything! Ow. Okay fine, I get it. No more snappy retorts.
