Log; Ongoing
When; Sept. 23rd, evening.
Rating; PG-13 (alcohol)
Characters; Miroku (
hottesthoushi) and Kitty (
kittyjones)
Summary; Miroku comes to pick up Kitty for a night on (or rather, under) the town.
Log;
It was early evening and, on a skyline marked by huge apartment blocks, the sky was fading into black bit-by-bit. Calming, in a way. Bringing the promise of night and sleep.
To most people, anyway. Kitty on the other hand was... restless. Too many days cooped up inside, moping about current curses and past curses and curses still to come. She'd been to the Underworld for the first time only the other week, but had found the lights and the alcohol to be... a strange kind of soothing.
So when Miroku has suggested a little visit, she'd jumped at the chance.
Most other days, most other places, she'd have felt more than a little peculiar walking into the seedy underground of a still not-all-that-familiar City with a monk. But here, it didn't seem so strange at all, and she seemed quite relaxed as she waited, hands shoved into the pockets of her leather jacket, biting her lip absent mindedly.

Good God, he's blushing so badly! "Not embarrassing. Uh huh. Right. Then why, pray tell, have you gone the colour of a tomato?"
A little gasp of apparent surprise greeted his next words, "Not from me? Why would you think that? Because I'm such an innocent young woman? I'm flattered, really."
no subject
He pursed his lips. "I'm not the color of a tomato..."
"And, well... You didn't like it when I did perverted things, so I thought... You didn't like that sort of thing!"
no subject
Right now, Kitty was finding it very hard not start crying from laughter.
"Perverted? Oh come now. I didn't say anything perverted. You just chose to interpret certain things in certain ways. Shows a dirty mind. And besides," she cracked him a wide grin, patting him on the head patronisingly, "there's a difference between word play and full-out groping, Miroku."

Kitty remained thoroughly unperturbed by his remarks. This was simply too much fun for her to get rattled now. "I hardly think asking a woman to bear your children and some light conversation about weaponry can be compared on the same level!"
She sighed as though wearied by the entire process (though inwardly, of course, she was raring for more – he did blush so becomingly). "Don't pout, Miroku, if the wind changes you'll stay that way. Here," she picked up a piece of takoyaki with her chopsticks, and held it out towards him, "want some octopus?"
no subject
He ate the takoyaki from her chopsticks and swallowed. "You haven't even seen pouting, Kitty-san. How long have you known InuYasha?"

"Ah. Yes, I suppose you're about right there," she helped herself to more of the food. It was growing on her, octopus or not. Chewing thoughtfully, she asked, "is he always that... sulky? Touchy? Prone to sudden explosions of anger?"
no subject
Miroku grinned at that. "Oh, yes. He is. You haven't really seen anything yet, though."
no subject
"Mmmm. You could, I suppose. Not sure it would be very impressive though, I mean, don't the holiest men - like you, obviously - always have the very smallest of staffs?"
Her next expression was, however, one of genuine shock, "Wait, are you saying he gets worse?"
no subject
He gave her a serious look when she mentioned InuYasha. "Oh yes. Much worse."
no subject
He really does walk into these things, doesn't he?
"Worse? Well that's... loses his temper even more, you mean?" she sighed, exasperated. "What's the story with you guys, anyway? I mean," she added hastily, "you don't have to tell me. It's none of my business. Forget it."
no subject
"Yeah, he does..." He looked down at the table and tried to think of a way to explain their situation. "Well... I met InuYasha when I took something pretty important and powerful from the girl he was traveling with. I wanted it so I could defeat this... man, who they were looking to defeat as well. We ended up traveling together."
no subject
After he gave his little explanation she paused for a moment to allow it to sink in, brows furrowed slightly in thought. "So... this man isn't exactly a nice bloke then, I take it?"
no subject
"Not exactly nice in the understatement of this and every other day," he said. "If I didn't know better, I would think he somehow had a hand in this City business."
no subject
"Fits? Fits of what? Hysterical laughter? Terror? Give me a hint, here." A part of her chastised herself for being mean, but the larger part of her was so inherently amused it had past the point of caring.
Still, she sobered up at talk of this... man. "The City? You would? He's that bad, huh? Is he..." she lingered for a moment, hoping this wouldn't sound weird, "is he... human?"
no subject
"That bad. And no... He's not human." Miroku frowned. Naraku was as far from human as one could get.
no subject
"He's a demon, then," she spoke quietly, thoughtfully, "right? I... yeah. I know about... them. I fought... And Inuyasha, he's a... a half demon?"
