Log; Ongoing
When; Yesterday, Before the Gender Switch.
Rating; PG-13
Characters; Cagalli and Athrun
Summary; Cagalli goes to console Athrun.
Log;
"ATHRUN!" Several seconds of silence passed, and Cagalli found herself listening to her own booming voice ricochet against the walls. Tilting her head backwards, she gazed upward, and squinted at the large Gundam, its shiny crimson coat glistening underneath the lighting. Frustrated--her voice was becoming rather hoarse--the blonde skirted her way around onto the elevator, and slammed the green button, ignoring the sharp jolt of pain that ran along her fingers. Maybe she had hit it too hard.
The platform began to rise and soon enough, she found herself in front of Justice's cockpit. Cagalli reached out to knock, hesitated, reconsidered and withdrew her arm, cradling the length of it like a nervous child.
"...Athrun, open the door." More of a request than a command, her voice a little softer than before. Silence, again, ensued. Her patience was smeared thin, her brow furrowed in distraught. Scowling, Cagalli raised her voice, "Athrun! Open it! Now!"
...Again, nothing but the echo of her voice. And then, as expected, silence.
Aggravated, Cagalli kicked the Gundam, irritation making her brash. She stumbled backwards, hissing slightly as pain seared through her leg. Staggering backwards, she felt her balance on the platform waver, and backwards she went. She opened her mouth as she tumbled into the air, falling. A high-pitched scream tore itself from her throat, bright golden eyes wide with surprise and panic.

"...I'm fine, Athrun."
Peering down at the injured figure, Cagalli reached out and brushed aside a few locks of dark cobalt hair. And she swallowed the lump in her throat. It was only when she was sure she trusted her voice that she spoke again, "...C-can you sit up?"

"Ahh," he managed, "I-" Just as he had begun to push himself up with his elbows, pain shot through his right arm and he winced, face contorting in his valiant attempt to hide it. "-I'm fine."
At least Cagalli was all right, but-- he stopped in his struggle, frowning. If he hadn't caught her in time... "Just what were you thinking, pulling a dangerous stunt like that anyway? You could've died!"

The color seemed to return to her face when Athrun seemed fine, but she kept a hand to his back and one to his arm to steady him.
Surprise and distress dissolved into mild irritation when Athrun began to speak, as if she'd been the idiot, "--You were the one who locked yourself up in Justice! Its--Its not like I planned to fall off the stupid platform! If you had opened up, I would have--"
Relief flooded over her as she realized that Athrun was unharmed. Barely able to supress a smile, Cagalli wrapped her arms around Athrun's shoulders, pulling him close.

It, really was his fault for causing so much worry. So much needless worry.
As Athrun allowed himself to sink comfortably into the familiarity of those enclosed arms, he buried his face into the junction between the lean neck and shoulder and released a soft sigh. "Sumanai..."
