Log; completed
When; Tonight
Rating; PG
Characters; Tenten [
weaponed] at first, Grimmjow [
6thsword] and Hinamori [
hajikemomo]
Summary; Don't ever trust a ninja. Especially not when she knows more about your love life than you probably do, and offers to take you to dinner.
Log;
It was sort of because she was bored, in the end. Not that waiting about for the Espada to show made her boredom any the easier to handle but~ Well. It was this, or sit with Hinamori as the girl fidgeted nervously for several hours without a word. Not quite this ninja's idea of fun, to say the least, even if she had offered to be keep her company.
No, with a small smile she'd told the young vice captain all she knew, not at all surprised to note that what she knew was a lot more than most people seemed to have grasped. The joys of a working intel system and common sense. Well, that, a good knack at reading people, and rather handy hacking skills added to it all and ultimately, it really wasn't a shock that Hinamori didn't have anything to add to Tenten's take on the situation.
The bun haired girl had, through no fault of her - or his - own, gradually picked up a thing or two about emotions from Hisoka and had offered the simple advice of facing the source of her confusion. Having the girl agree she'd taken it upon herself to act as intermediary.
It didn't hurt to be on good terms with the enemy of your ally, after all. Small things like this always paid off.

Clearly, no one hid as much as they thought they did. But that was something else entirely, and she turned her attention to the Espada in front of her. "No. It's all fresh, Kusajishi-fukutaichou went shopping yesterday." At least he was eating, anyway. Forcing herself to move at last, the dark haired girl helped herself in order to keep busy. She was hungry, too, of course.

"I'm guessing 'cause everybody's coming back to life, those two aren't dead anymore. Nemu and the blonde chick." He chuckled a little. "Thank the fucking gods, eh?"

Aizen and Rangiku obviously didn't want anyone knowing what had happened though, so Hinamori fought against the sadness that threatened to creep into her voice as she answered, "mm, I'm glad. I hope they don't mean to just take it away again."
no subject
"We won't be doing any taking of lives. At least, not of shinigami," he reassured her, remembering Aizen's orders. It didn't occur to him that he'd forgotten about his persistance about his own desire to take her life.

It was silly to hear herself speaking about it, so quietly, like just mentioning it would kill them again. But she hadn't been able to do anything for them at the time, hadn't been allowed to help them return to life after, hadn't done anything at all but waited. And for what, for the deities to act kindly on a whim? For Aizen to do what she couldn't? Hinamori didn't know how long that would last. "I guess I just don't want anything bad to happen to them, now that they're finally able to go home again."
no subject
"They'd be pretty stupid if they threw their lives away again. You'd think someone would get pretty careful about it if they were given a second chance." He had no idea where this conversation was going. "So don't worry about 'em. Worry about..." He hesitated.
no subject
He was right though. She smiled slightly before asking, "worry about what?" although she almost didn't want an answer.
no subject
"...Worry about yourself for once." He wasn't sure if it was a good thing to tell her, especially considering her penchant for insisting that others were more important. "You've got a lot in your head already without other people's problems or -- or fucking taunts getting in the way." The mere memory of Tayuya bothering Hinamori over the network was enough to irritate him.
no subject
But she'd started to frown, just from thinking about the previous events, and she laughed nervously once more. "I guess. But you can't control other people, or ignore them." Hinamori wasn't going to ask him why, of all things, the illusion had involved her. If he wanted to tell her, he could.
no subject
He'd up and said it. Fuck. And she wouldn't be able to ignore it, either. So, to keep himself from seeing her reaction, he busied himself with eating.
no subject
But at the same time, she didn't mind it that much. Moving slowly - it was bad enough she was naturally jumpy, she didn't need him to start now - she stood, crossing to the other side of the table and giving him a hug from behind. There. Hinamori couldn't see his reaction, and he couldn't see her blush. "...Thank you."
no subject
"You're welcome." His kept his voice quiet, figuring that raising the volume would ruin the emotion.
no subject
It wasn't meant to be a subject change, but it sort of was, wasn't it? She couldn't shake the tall shinigami's mention of having spoken to him, though, and it seemed like the only thing she hadn't gotten an answer too that she felt fine about asking.
no subject
It was odd, this change of atmosphere, but it was also relieving. He actually felt comfortable now with her arms around him. He raised his hand to brush away the bangs hanging precariously over her eyes.
He really was getting soft. Damn.
no subject
Hinamori managed to smile slightly in response, "I'm glad she did. And that you're better," she added, moving to leave him alone and return to her seat.
no subject
"And thank you for worrying." He guessed it was the right thing to say. Though he'd told her more than once not to worry about him, the sole fact that she did was reassuring. It meant she cared.
no subject
Of course, none of that really settled her close to growling stomach, so the small shinigami picked up her fork again.

The Espada fell silent as they ate, now content with the atmosphere in the room. They could have gone on without speaking and he wouldn't complain at all.
During the silence, it hit him that he couldn't go "home" anymore, at least, not with Cobray living there. Grimmjow still felt intense hatred for the man, and he was sure that if they ran into each other, more than a room would be reduced to cinders.
"Momo," he said slowly, raising his eyes to meet hers, "is it all right if I sleep here? I ain't going back to the temple 'cause that son of a bitch want to kill me, and Aizen's place is too depressing." If she declined, he supposed he would be fine sleeping on a roof somewhere.
no subject
"I-" What could she say? She didn't want to turn him down simply because of Kusajishi-fukutaichou, though, but at the same time... Oh, what if Hitsugaya finally came back? Stupid, stupid, she lowered her gaze while mentally berating herself. "I guess for tonight... That's fine." He couldn't stay stay though. No one else would think kindly of the gesture, even if she wanted him to.
no subject
He sat back, gnawing on his fork. He knew he didn't have to worry about Nell, so he only hoped that pink-haired shinigami could sleep deeply. No one else lived there, right? "Thanks."
no subject
To say the least.
no subject
But then he frowned, confused. "Wait. You don't sleep in your own room?" Talk about weird.
no subject
Not that she really minded if people saw it that way, simply that it was irritating when people got the wrong impression. So the dark haired shinigami fell quiet, staring at her hands in her lap.
no subject
In other situations he might've taken her words to mean that she slept with this Hitsugaya, at least when he was around, and he would've gotten pissed beyond reason. But Grimmjow remembered when she'd unknowingly spent the night in his room, and he supposed it was just easier for to sleep knowing she was safe.
no subject
The issue had never really been raised before, no one else having thought she'd still get them considering she'd woken up from the coma by herself. In fact, only Hitsugaya had known at all. Having Grimmjow know too... She found she didn't mind that much, either.
