OPEN
When; Tonight, 24 January
Rating; PG-13 so far (for drinking?)
Characters; Sam Winchester, Dean Winchester, and OPEN (if you know Dean or Sam, you're welcome! or you could just be in the bar)
Summary; Dean's having a birthday. Sam doesn't care what he thinks.
Notes; Multiple threads, thread-jumping, whatever you want! It's a party, anything goes.
Log;
After the prank he'd pulled earlier, Sam thought Dean might need a break. He also thought it might be prudent not to be home when Dean got there. So Sam staked out a favorite bar of Dean's, called some of his friends, and left a note.
Dean--
Hey, didn't feel like cooking so I went out. Meet me at [some bar, come on Dean, it's your favorite! they have tater tots], okay? I have something to tell you. Sam
There was a chance Dean wouldn't come, but it was a bar, and the house would be quiet and lonely, and Sam was pretty sure he'd come. In the meantime, he savored the thought of the day Dean must have had...

"I can't believe I didn't get an ass grab from you. I'm hurt. It's my birthday and everything."
no subject
"You get a birthday cheek kiss, no more. Well, there is more cause I made birthday double chocolate brownies. I was all chef-like in the kitchen. They may not be warm with the walk over here but they're fresh and that's what makes them awesome."
She gently nudges into his side with her shoulder. "Guess who's gotta make a birthday wish??" She looks at him pointedly.
no subject
"Hey, I'll take brownies over an ass pat any day." It's true, sadly, most of the time. He rolls his eyes at Dawn's suggestion though.
"Squirt, do I have to tell you how bad that's likely to turn out?"
no subject
She leans back and gives him a look, wide eyes, expectant, waiting for him to give in sooner rather than later cause he knows eventually she'll get him to give in anyway. "Don't make me get all Dawn pout-y on you cause I can break it out at a moments notice and it has more power than most magic spells I've seen, and I've seen a lot of magic spells after living with two witches for awhile."
And now she's side-tracked... cause she's Dawn. "I think my favorite one was the glamour one Willow used to do. She could make herself look awesome in two seconds flat. Everyone should be able to do that."
no subject
He chuckles a bit at her magic tangent. "Witches are whores but I guess I can make some exceptions and I'm pretty sure you can do the same thing without magic, Squirt."
Don't be offended, Dawn. His experience with witches hasn't been quite as positive as yours.
no subject
"Not all witches are whores, maybe the ones you've met. Some of them are nice, decent human beings who are one with the girl love and have nice, colorful and eclectic fashion sense. That's like saying all boys are dumb or all mystically created things are evil... which they're... not." She is totally not evil, okay?
But she recovers with a smile and that amused spark is back in her eyes. "But I will see your compliment of thinking I can get all beutified in two seconds flat and raise you a me pout."
In preparation, she flips her hair back behind her shoulders and tuens in the stool to face Dean straight on. She looks completely innocent and earnest at him. "Dean? Will you please make a wish and blow out a candle for your birthday?" And he will now get the full on power of a Dawn pout. "It would make Sam and I really happy."
no subject
"Yeah, my experience with them haven't been nearly as positive and all boys are dumb, but you're right about the last one."
Proof that compliments are always good things to give out. They get you out of trouble.
The pout makes him laugh. Really laugh and he so rarely does. Finally he straightens up and nods. "Alright, how can I deny you and Sam both happiness."
He gives the brownie a skeptical look, like it's going to personally ruin his life then closes his eyes.
Let Sam be okay. Here. Home. Just let him be okay
Of course his wish would be for Sam.
He blows the candle out with one breath. "Happy?"
no subject
"You really can't deny us, we're too cute to deny." She teases, amused as she glanced back to Sam.
She isn't sure weather Dean actually makes a wish or weather he just goes through the show of it for them. Either way, it makes her happy that he at least put some effort into it. She can't seem to get rid of that smile just yet as she nods at him. "Very happy. You've done a good birthday deed in a selfless kind of way. Plus, there's the whole having faith that things will be okay thing, which is really a big step for some people." She's thinking of both Dean and her sister.
She plucks the candle out of the top of the brownie and offers it to Dean as she sings a quiet (so very few can hear her) off-key ditty of the 'Happy Birthday' song that everyone sings. And when she's finished. "Happy birthday, Dean."
no subject
It's just one of those things. When you've seen and done all the things they've seen and done, your faith in the world kind of tends to wane. Dean's is so much lower than Buffy's has been since she jumped from that tower.
"Guess I can't."
He takes the brownie from her, listens to her sing and grins a bit before he puts the brownie on the bar and hugs Dawn tightly. "Thanks, Squirt."
no subject
She picks up a brownie for herself and tears off a small piece to pop into her mouth. She chews it and swallows it down before speaking again. There are only certain crowds she'll talk with her mouth full to. Mostly just her sister, Xander and Willow.
"Can you taste the double in the double chocolate brownies?" She waggles her eyebrows at him. "Super double chocolate-y."
no subject
He takes a big bite of the brown and nods, half chewing it before he starts talking. "Definitely super double chocolate. You did good, Squirt."
no subject
She remembers barging into her sisters room, sometimes listening in from the hallway outside, occasionally trying to go do all the fun things she was doing with her friends. Yeah. She can be a tag-a-long sometimes.
"Thanks." She smiles at his brownie compliment. "I'm working on becoming a master chef in my household. They've been treated with a new dish every night this week, plus dessert. The dessert thing I'm awesome with but the actual cooking, sometimes I'm hit or miss. Sometimes we just have dessert for dinner on the nights my cooking is a big time miss."
no subject
"Anytime you want to practice on me, let me know. I've mastered waffles and spaghetti-o's."
no subject
She arches a brow, looking skeptically back over to him. Of course that skepticism is still laced with amusement. "Don't spaghettio's come in a can? Cause I'm not sure you can count that as cooking. I mean I guess you could but..."
