After the prank he'd pulled earlier, Sam thought Dean might need a break. He also thought it might be prudent not to be home when Dean got there. So Sam staked out a favorite bar of Dean's, called some of his friends, and left a note.

Dean--

Hey, didn't feel like cooking so I went out. Meet me at [some bar, come on Dean, it's your favorite! they have tater tots], okay? I have something to tell you. Sam

There was a chance Dean wouldn't come, but it was a bar, and the house would be quiet and lonely, and Sam was pretty sure he'd come. In the meantime, he savored the thought of the day Dean must have had...

[ The present is unwrapped, and Castiel looks like all of the awkward in giving it to him. He is very obviously not sure that it's the sort of thing to give to this Winchester, but it's the thought that counts, right? ]

I got you something. I'm suppose to, right?

[ And he shoves the gift out in front of him, waiting for Dean to react. ]

[Dean is a little surprised that Castiel even thought to get him something. The moment stays awkward for a second while Dean turns the journal over in his hands, looking at it.

He clears his throat, turns the journal back over and nods.]

Th-thanks, Cas. It's...it's pretty awesome.

[Dena really does try to keep a journal of all the shit that happens here.]

[ Castiel smiles -- it's only a little one, calm down. ]

I thought you might need a new diary eventually.

Yeah...yeah. Just about filled my other one up.

[Now he's pretty sure Cas reads his diary and Dean may start putting appropriate things in there for Cas to 'find']
