When; April 02.
Rating; PG? I'll change it if I need to.
Characters; Peter Petrelli
powersponge & Claire Bennet
undefeatably; OPEN TO OTHER CHARACTERS!!!PLZ
Summary; Peter and Claire become acquainted with The City.
Log;
Peter Petrelli had felt invisible his entire life. Just another man with a mediocre job, who'd amount to nothing. One would think that when he discovered he had super powers, he'd be a bit more happy with his life, but of course, with every up comes a down, and finding out from a painting prophet that he might possibly destroy an entire city, killing millions, didn't make him too happy.
This city, however, wasn't quite like New York. In fact, he wasn't quite sure what this city was, or what to think of it. Peter wasn't sure of anything anymore; if he was dead or not, or if he was possibly put here to keep him from exploding in the middle of NYC. This place was, after all, some strange convention of freaks like him, but Claire was here, which made him feel a bit more content.
So it was time for him and Claire to get acquainted with this City, after all, from what he'd heard, they'd be there for quite some time.
Peter waited by the door while Claire got ready to go. Their new apartment was nice, for a free place to stay. After pushing his hair out of his eyes, Peter stood and stretched a bit. "Hey Claire?" he called through the apartment, "I'm ready to go-"

"Hey," she said apologetically, pushing a ringlet behind her ear. "Sorry that took so long." She looked up and gave him a bright smile.
"So," she asked, "know where you wanna go first?"
no subject
"Is there some sort of square? Like a busy part of the city?" a market place, a park, anything would do, it didn't really matter to him.
no subject
"There was a square with a bunch of fountains," she offered. "A lot of people hang out there when they aren't on the network."
no subject
"Maybe we'll meet some people, make some friends," Peter turned the door knob, then held the door open for Claire, "After you," he said.

Claire remembered the princess Ananova, and Yuuji, and Mr. Gray. But they didn't know Peter, at least not yet, and she was fond of the idea of meeting more people.
She smiled at him. She felt like that was all she was doing lately, but for once, it felt nice to actually have feeling behind the emotion. "Thanks very much, sir," she said, and stepped out into the apartment building.
They had a lot of stairs to climb down, but she didn't really mind. Being high up was a nice feeling, and Peter didn't seem to mind. So she wouldn't either.

He let out a short sigh as he reached the bottom floor, holding the building door open for Claire once again.

She smiled brightly when Peter opened the door again for her. You don't have to keep doing that, she thought, but she found it...comforting, in some way. Familiar. Nice. She didn't know what, but she liked it, even though she knew she could open doors herself.
She walked out the doors and into the night, soaking in the City at night: fountains aglow, apartment windows lit, a slight tick-tock at the back of her head.

He remembered that all of the apartment buildings circled around the city, so to get to the center of town he could probably just go straight and run into it, though he wasn't quite sure if that was where they'd be going.
no subject
"We just walk straight," she said, half-sure. "Once we find the carousel, we're in the center of the square. The fountains could be nearby."
no subject
Peter took a deep breath, continuing straight ahead. The ticking grew a tad bit louder, but it was nothing worse than sitting in a quiet room with a working clock. The network was right, the ticking wasn't so bad when you had company.
"I think I see it," he told Claire, motioning ahead of him.
no subject
She tried not to think about that. If she was with Peter, she was fine. And so she'd be happy.
"It's really cool, isn't it?" she asked.
no subject
"It is pretty cool, I guess." he said turning to see what else was around him.
no subject
She tried to follow Peter's eyes, and caught sight of the fountains, all aglow in the night. People were passing around, past the fountains, which still lit up in columns of bright water.
She smiled hopefully. "I guess it isn't so bad here," she said, turning back to Peter. "Right?"
no subject
Peter's attention was drawn to a few people in the square, one of which, has asked them a question.
no subject
She slowed, her only blue eye saw a the pair looking at the carousel. "It's nothing special," she mumbled to herself. "I've seen better."

Quickly becoming bored of drawing just buildings Stan started to draw some more things. Soon the drawing depicted a giant cockroach blasting the City to pieces. Stan chuckled to himself. He turned the paper over and started looking for some new inspiration. He spotted a couple of people he hadn't yet seen around.
"Draw your portrait?" He asked.
no subject
Peter pushed his hair behind his ears, raising his eyebrows at the man's question. A portrait? Peter had never been asked to be drawn, he always just...was, and because he was so used to it, he didn't really mind.
He turned to Claire before replying to the man, "What do you say?" he asked her.
no subject
"It sounds fun, Peter," she said with a smile, turning to the man. "Is there a pose you want us to take?"
no subject
"Whichever pose is most natural for you ma'am." Stanley told her.
