LOG; ongoing
When; April 17
Rating; G
Characters; Akito [
attackshark] & Freyjadour [
dawn_shower]
Summary; A discussion about Frey's gender leads to one about crossdressing and, in turn, an offer to go clothes shopping.
Log;
Akito glanced behind his shoulder at the two crocodiles that followed leisurely at his heels. It was a little strange, having large reptilians constantly around him, but the boy had quickly become used to it. He only checked them to make sure they didn't attack people (and they hadn't yet, thankfully) and were keeping pace. He didn't exactly what to leave them behind, either...
He (and they) made it to the fountain quickly enough, and Akito perched on the edge while the crocodiles slipped into the water for a quick swim. The boy sat with his legs swinging, waiting for his friend to appear, but keeping in mind that Freyjadour was no longer a boy sharing gender issue woes but a... girl.
Akito still found the City largely confusing, but at least he had friends.

The square was no less busy than usual, some curse days had the crowd’s diminished but this one wasn’t particularly dangerous. Except people seemed to be shying away from a certain section of the fountain. Courtesy of two fully grown crocodiles swimming in the ever luminescent water. “Akito,” Frey called out softly, not used to the sound. It was lighter and gentler, somehow feminine even though it was barely a tone higher than his voice when he was male.
She hadn’t intended to upset Akito with her inquiry. It had seemed harmless enough but even over the computer he could tell that Akito’s dropped at the mention of that person he was helping. Ikki? And Ringo? Well she wouldn’t bring it up again, it wasn’t her place to pry. But maybe she could help get his mind off it a little.

... Ah. No, it's better if he wasn't reminded of that.
"Hi, Frey-san," he greeted, pushing those thoughts out of his mind. "How are you doing?"

“I’ve never gone shopping for clothing before,” she murmured absently as she peered curiously at the crocodiles. They were certainly large but they didn’t seem particularly violent or aggressive.

"It's a lot of fun!" the boy chirped, forcing a smile. At least Agito's presence in the back of his mind was comforting. "I've done it enough times before, but never shopping for dresses. Well... except that one time we were in Kyoto." He didn't explain more beyond that.
He tugged on Frey's sleeve and pointed in the direction of the market. "Should we look there first? There are some vendors still open."

She glanced back at the crocodiles following Akito, odd but they seemed to have no inclination to attack any of the strangers they were passing. “Lets take a look at the vendors,” she replied brightly a few baubles catching her eye. She’d never had any interest in jewelry or the like…hopefully it was just another side effect of the curse. Just that earring that Father had given him would be quite enough, he didn’t need an excess interest in jewels and diamonds.

But then the boy remembered Frey's current state, and as they passed stalls of jewelry, Akito's awed expression turned into one of delight. "But you're a princess today! Or the lady of a knight, or something."

Frey couldn’t help the soft giggle that bubbled from her lips. Such a strange sound, as a boy she’d never giggle, laugh yes but there was some distinction between the two, one that she’d previously not noticed. “I guess I am a princess today. But just today,” she’d probably regret it tomorrow how in touch she was being with her feminine side but it was fairly harmless…might as well whatever made her happy today.

That reminded him of his mission to find ATs for Adam. So, letting go of Frey's hand, he dashed ahead a few steps, taking in the entirety of the market as best he could for the first time. It was a busy place, even for the time of day, and he was sure that he would lose sight of Frey if he didn't check back often. At least Akito was certain of his crocodiles.
But no luck yet. The two would have to search further.

“What are you looking for?” she asked curiously as they browsed the next stall, eyeing the wide array of merchandise. The City would be the City, even their vendors seemed to be a weird mishmash of what Frey had come to associate with norm to things that were puzzling just in their shape, nevermind function. Spoons, a ball of yarn that seemed to take its colour directly from a rainbow, what looked like a brick but weighed less than a sponge…a pendant that looked like a vibrant blue starburst. She picked it up, examining it in the light. It was the colour of Lyon’s eyes.
[ooc; sorry for how long that took :x I got caught up in comment spam and other plots D;]

He turned his gaze at Frey to answer her question. "I'm looking for a pair of ATs. They're shoes with wheels on them, and they let you do cool tricks in the air. I have my own pair, but my friend Adam is interested in it, and he doesn't have any."

Frey certainly didn’t see anything that looked like shoes with wheels, “Maybe the next stall?” She walked along the line of vendors. “Are those it?” she asked pointing to a pair of tattered roller-skates. They looked odd, definitely not for walking or hiking across the green plains that made up a good portion of Falena’s land.

And then there they were, tucked in a small booth a short distance away. On the display were various wheels and parts, and stacked behind those were whole shoes in boxes. Grabbing Frey's hand, Akito pulled her towards the stall, a wide smile on his face.
"Here they are!" he exclaimed with glee, picking up a pair of orange-and-black wheels with decorative tiger stripes along the side. "Ikki-kun will be really happy! Adam too!" And Agito, he added mentally. He didn't need Frey to learn about his other personality yet.
