When; June 10th, evening
Rating; G, I'm sure.
Characters; Inara
no_whore and Roy
flameroy
Summary; Inara has a dinner date. ^^
Log;
Getting ready was something all Companions were very good at. It didn't take long for her to sign off of the City-wide net and take a quick bath, then prepare herself. It'd been too long since she'd had a reason to do herself up, and she found she was enjoying it. Having a purpose; something to do, was a good thing.
She looked around Serenity for a few moments before she left, thinking to tell someone she was going out as Mal had asked her to do, but no one was to be found. She figured Mal and Jayne were still off looking for the missing Wash. With a tiny frown that quickly disappeared, she stepped off of Serenity and made her way to wait just beside the fountain.
She was careful not to look at the water.

By the time he'd showered and gotten changed into something a little smarter than his military uniform (with perhaps only the difference of colours.) he made his way out of his apartment for the City's Square. He knew it would take him a fair few minutes to arrive there, but he had enough time to get there just before he was expected.
His hands were in his pockets as he arrived, an old habit of his that would never die. Even when he took note of the one standing in front of the fountain he failed to remove them, and it was only when he got closer, that he pulled them both out, one hanging at his side as the other lifted in offer.
"Inara...?" He enquired, although certain that he had approached the lady in question.

"The same goes for you, although please don't feel you have to use my full name. Roy will do."

Flattery was another thing Companions were trained to be good at, but with Inara, it was all natural talent. Her fingers tightened a little in his as he shook them, silently allowing him to know that she wasn't just some odd weak woman. While trained in many arts, Companions were also trained in many forms of self-defense and weaponry, and she was a master of several.
"Now that we've been properly introduced, I believe dinner would be next?"

He didn't even know why he was making analogies of everything. He was going on a little dinner date, with a girl he'd just met. What was so new about that?
"Ah, Yes. Dinner. This way." He let go of her hand, and curled his arm slightly, just enough to make it obvious he was offering it to her, and not too much so that if it were not taken he'd feel embarrassed.

Instead of dwelling on a slightly off beginning, she slid her fingers up to catch the crook of his arm and nodded, following his lead.

Upon arrival at their destination, they were seated in a booth away from the centre of the room, near the back of the restuarant where it was definately much quieter, and after being handed a menu, they were left alone.
He was looking at Inara though, wearing the natural smile he'd aquired earlier. "Have you been here before?" Crap, where had he gone? This was thanks to two years out of practice, right?
