Getting ready was something all Companions were very good at. It didn't take long for her to sign off of the City-wide net and take a quick bath, then prepare herself. It'd been too long since she'd had a reason to do herself up, and she found she was enjoying it. Having a purpose; something to do, was a good thing.

She looked around Serenity for a few moments before she left, thinking to tell someone she was going out as Mal had asked her to do, but no one was to be found. She figured Mal and Jayne were still off looking for the missing Wash. With a tiny frown that quickly disappeared, she stepped off of Serenity and made her way to wait just beside the fountain.

She was careful not to look at the water.

She saw the shift on his face, and the way the smile faltered, and it puzzled her. Maybe she was slipping in her training, or perhaps it was just something with her personality...

Instead of dwelling on a slightly off beginning, she slid her fingers up to catch the crook of his arm and nodded, following his lead.

An honest smile returned to his lips when he felt her take a hold of his arm, nodding in polite acknowledgement of her agreement. He knew the little restuarant he had in mind wasn't that far away, he just hoped she liked his decision.

Upon arrival at their destination, they were seated in a booth away from the centre of the room, near the back of the restuarant where it was definately much quieter, and after being handed a menu, they were left alone.

He was looking at Inara though, wearing the natural smile he'd aquired earlier. "Have you been here before?" Crap, where had he gone? This was thanks to two years out of practice, right?
