Kensei gently closed his laptop and took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. He was furious with her and at himself. At Hiyori for being to damn stubborn about it all and at himself for letting it get to this point. Whatever had upset her so much he was definitely a cause - if not the cause of it. He knew he had screwed up lately, a lot, but he wanted to at least have the chance to make it right.
He knew he could never make everything right and perfect, but at least he could keep from making the same mistake again. And Hiyori was always doing this, pushing people away at the slightest excuse. Well, Kensei was sick and tired of it. He was going to make her talk to him and open up if it was the last thing he did. Which, knowing how violent Hiyori could be, it probably would be the last thing he did.
Kensei sighed and snatched up his zanpakutou. Most of the other vaizards rarely even bothered with them, but Kensei still preferred to incorporate it, along with hand to hand combat. He liked getting up close and personal with his opponents. Besides, old habits died hard. As much as they had all trained, Kensei had been a shinigami longer than he had a vaizard.
Kensei jogged out of the apartment and headed towards where he had felt Hiyori's reiatsu flaring up, praying that she wasn't near anyone. He didn't want any innocent people hurt because she was mad at him. Hell, he didn't want to be hurt because she was going to be mad at him, but there wasn't much to be done about that. Hiyori would not hold back on his account, and even if Kensei did go all out, he was no match for the shorter girl.
Using Flash Steps, Kensei was in the same area as his friend in no time. He was gradually turning up his reiatsu as he came, wanting to give her fair warning that he was coming.
"Alright!" Kensei shouted, turning around as he tried to pinpoint the girl's position. "Come out so we can get this over with. I have a lot of sense to beat into you!"

he shouted.
With a growl of frustration Kensei launched his own attack, firing bala blasts and attacks from his zanpakutou. He wasn't so much trying to hurt Hiyori as he was trying to distract her. If Kensei could just get close to her then perhaps he could grab her, drag her away so they could fight someplace where people wouldn't get hurt...
he snapped.
With another snarl of anger Kensei lunged towards Hiyori, hoping to perform some sort if mid air tackle and drag her away to one of the less populated areas. That was the plan, whether or not Hiyori would beat his ass down before he got to her was another story...

"FUCK," she snarled, immediately flashing away before his arms could completely wrap around her waist and falling to a knee to cough some more, spitting the coppery taste out of her mouth.
"Don't ya fuckin' turn this on me, Kensei," Hiyori growled, hand grabbing at her zanpakutou's hilt and tugging it out, the release sending a shock in her general vicinity. "If I never saw ya as part of th'group, I WOULDN'T BE THIS PISSED. 'Cause, BELIEVE ME. IT'S ANNOYIN' T'WORRY 'BOUT YER FUCKIN' ASS."

The silver haired man knew he was in trouble now. Not only was Hiyori already pissed off at him, but to add insult to injury he had wounded her too. There was no way he was going to get through her now, not that there had been much of a chance initially. As far as he could tell from her words, she had never really wanted to hear him through.
he asked, shouting down at her.
He knew that he was overreacting, that he should make decisions like that or say what he had with the mask on. It made him more impulsive and prone to do rash things, but right now he didn't care. Right now he was pissed at Hiyori and upset at himself for being such a burden. If that's really how she saw him then he didn't want to be around her.

Shinji had warned her of this before. Of letting her concentration slide, of feeling anything but the anger that all of them sometimes needed to draw on to truly pull the Hollow out. But she had never anticipated actually having to deal with that type of situation--if there was anything Hiyori was confident in, it was her ability to get angry at, well, about everything.
Everything was wrong. Hiyori was supposed to be angry, she was supposed to kick ass, and Kensei was supposed to take it, take it like he always did and more. He was supposed to reason with her until the anger faded, because Kensei was the stable type. The dependable one. She'd pummel him under her fists were numb, then they'd make up over a bag of dum-dum suckers. Rinse and repeat.
Kensei wasn't supposed to leave.
Maybe if she left first, she wouldn't have to witness it. If she didn't see it, it didn't happen, right?
Her cheeks felt suspiciously wet. For a few seconds, Hiyori simply stared.
And then she started to run. But this time, it wasn't towards him.

He allowed his own mask to slowly fade away as his anger left him, the reality of what he had just done hitting him. Kensei had said he left them. No, he had left them. Shinji, Hiyori, the others... when the shinigami cast them out they had grown closer to a family, and now he was leaving them.
The was no doubt in Kensei's mind that he would leave them either. Hiyori might shoot her mouth off but there was always some truth behind what she said.
"I never wanted to be a burden," he said softly. "I just wanted to help people. I'm sorry I needed help doing that... you were always stronger than me Hiyori... I didn't know you resented me for needing your help..."
He knew that she couldn't hear the words, and that she wouldn't want to even if she could. Shaking his head, Kensei lowered himself to the ground, heading off in the opposite direction from Hiyori. He didn't know where he would go, he just knew he could never go back to them.
