LOG; COMPLETE
When; Today!
Rating; PG-PG13
Characters; Flonne
nin_nin_nin and Doris
hunterborn
Summary; Flonne found yet another person who accepted her challenge~, so they go to a clearing just outside of the city to start!
Log;
Flonne was so happy so many people had accepted! There were so many cool people here that would be worth learning a thing or two from, so she didn't mind parting with a few treasures in order to gain much more in expirience.
She had made it to the clearing where she told Doris to meet her. She wouldn't be using her magic, after all, that wouldn't be fair against a human. She had left her archery at home too, that was a bit too long-range for this fight. She'd be using her own strength. The only thing she had actually brought was a small satchel, containing one of her treasures as promised.
"Hello...?" She asked around her, wondering if Miss Doris had arrived yet.

She had left her archery at home too, that was a bit too long-range for this fight. She'd be using her own strength. "Hello...?" She asked around her, wondering if Miss Doris had arrived yet.

"Well, this is only training, so we'll need a few rules. Feel free to use your weapon--" She gestured to the whip, and I'll stick to my hands and kicks. Since I'm, well...a demon, it'll be a better challenge for me and even it out!" She tilted her head in thought. But what about the rules for the solid win?
"Oh, and since we aren't aiming to...well, kill eachother," She scratched the back of her head, "I guess if you get knocked from the area, you lose! That, or we can do the 'if you stay down for ten seconds or more, you lose' sort of thing, either is fine with me."
no subject
"Not a problem," Doris answered brightly. "I need the distraction right now." She also nodded to the girl's acceptance of her using her whip. "I'd say the being knocked out of the area would work the best. I'd rather not take enough damage to be unable to get back up, if you know what I mean..."
"By the way, I'm Doris Lang," she held out her hand. "I don't think I properly introduced myself before."
no subject
"Pleased to meet you, Miss Doris! I'm Flonne...!" She held out her hand to shake. "We haven't known eachother for very long, but I hope we can be friends!"

"Thirty feet works good for me. I tend to jump around a lot when I use the whip." She was relieved to know the girl was a healer. Although she had a high tolerance for pain, she wasn't really in the mood to be nursing any accidentally broken bones.
She glanced around. "I'm not sure how you want to start off..."
no subject
She nodded. "I like to move around a lot too. It should be just enough...~" Flonne had no intention of using her wings in this fight either. She stretched her arms and legs, getting loose and ready, ready to move fast.
"On the count of ten~?" She asked brightly. She backed up about ten feet, to give them distance to start.
no subject
"Count of 10 works for me," she said, her skill with the weapon apparent as it coiled around her with the barest movement of her wrist.
no subject
"Alright..." Flonne began, calming herself and beginning the countdown. "Ten...nine...eight...seven...six..." She prepared herself to make a quick first move. "Five...four...three...twoooo~..."
A pause. "One~!" With that Flonne bolted forward without delay, jumping into the air and aiming a kick at her side, looking to knock her back a few feet in a split second.

Oww... She thought, rubbing her nose. She bolted around her in a circle, wanting to keep on her toes from now on, staying focused on that whip.

And she struck, her wrist twisting to send the whip arcing for Flonne's ankle again (or at least where her ankle would be), but at the last second she flicked her wrist again so that the length of the whip made to coil around the girl's torso instead.

She made a few more circles now, faster than she had gone before. When she was sure that her movements were more of a blur than anything else, she attacked from behind, delivering a forceful forearm into Doris's back, at least, if she had made it fast enough.

Now the girl was making it especially known that she wasn't human, moving so quickly that Doris couldn't focus on her, and entirely gave up trying to keep her in front of her.
She had enough time to think This is gonna hurt before Flonne moved to attack again, sensing her striking at her back. Doris moved slightly, enough to take the blow more to the shoulder than the center of her back and went crashing to the ground. If it hadn't of been for the training her father had giving her she would have floundered and left herself wide open, but she managed to hit the ground and use her momentum to roll to her feet. She didn't wait to get her bearings, but pushed off the ground and bolted back at Flonne, bringing her arm about and sending the whip out first.
She grinned, seeing the whip coil around Flonne's chest and torso, barely managing to avoid her own whip as it finished coiling as she moved in on the girl. Two feet away, she grabbed the slack of the whip with her left hand, pulled it taunt so that the demon girl was forced forward slightly and, at less than a foot away, flipped her right arm up, hoping to land a blow to the side of Flonne's head with her elbow.

She made the mistake of idling to see the effect of her attack, thinking, Oh no...did...did I hit her too ha-- when all thoughts of the Fallen Angel were cut off when the whip got her. That was the last thing she wanted--! She really should learn to be trickier like Laharl or Etna, but those thoughts were cut off yet again when Doris's elbow skidded against her head as she tried to make a dodge. "Nnnh!" Was all she could get out. She knew flying was an unfair advantage, but when you're bound with a whip in close contact, she couldn't think of much else.
Quickly her wings flapped to propel her slightly upwards and backwards, knowing the force couldn't get Doris completely but it gave her legs leeway to aim a fast kick at her hands, at least her arms, biting back an apology as she did so.

She'd tried this trick in the past, but having her opponent airborne made it work so much better. With her backward force combined with Doris' pull, the whip came forward like a rip chord, setting Flonne into a dizzying spin. With Flonne disoriented from the spin she ran forward and caught her in the side with her shoulder and forced her to the edge of their set "ring" before letting Flonne's weight and momentum do the rest.

When she had finally recovered from that awful dizzyness, she sat up. She slowly brought herself to her feet and dusted off her little white jacket, then looked to Doris with a large, happy smile.
"Wow, that was lots of fun!" She exclaimed, clapping her hands together. "You won fair and square, and I learned a lot more about fighting today! So I don't feel too bad about losing. Thank you!" She bowed her head and skittered off to go fetch the bag from the place under the tree where she had set it.

"Flonne, you don't have to do that," she called as she re-coiled her whip and placed it in the holster at her side. She moved to follow. "I didn't hit you too hard, did I?"

She fished an old but elegant looking necklace out of the velvet pouch. It was typical demon-looking jewelery, with a gold, ornate chain and a ruby-like stone strung on it. She put it in Doris's hand, smiling. "It's really helpful during some fights, so I hope you like it!" She beamed. Bringing all those little treasures from home with her was certainly well worth it.

She took the necklace, admiring the beauty of it. Aside from the chocker that she saw as a necessity to cover the scars on her neck, she wore no jewelry--it was too easy to catch a chain or a ring in farm equipment and suddenly find yourself missing a digit or a limb. She rolled the stone in her hand. "How is it helpful?" she asked, accepting the gift and stringing it around her neck so she wouldn't lose it.

It was then that Flonne realized something. "Oh! I promised other people I'd train with them too!" She looked a bit flustered. "I really should be going--do enjoy the necklace, and let's spar again sometime! I really enjoyed myself today!"
no subject
"Thank you very much. I'm up to sparing again too. Just let me know."
She laughed as the demon girl rushed off. "Good luck, Flonne!"
