SUMMARY: we interrupt your regular Xanadu viewing for the following special reminder: ...the visit ain't over til the bloody plant sings.

That's right: our green belle been giving rather obnoxious titillating performances in Xanadu, to what can only be the... enjoyment... of certain Citizens. Adding injury to insult, it's quite possible that a couple of residents have also captured the plant's tune on film, and now the video's been turned into a network viral phenomenon!

But as Citizens surely know, every grand artist needs a doting live audience: come get dibs on more plant footage? Save someone from its evil clutches? Help a poor soul that's got lost in the gardens' great expanse? Get the plant to sign with your talent agency? Embark on a mystical quest to get it to shut up?

Just put your chlorophyll-tinted glasses on, and anything is possible.


[ ooc: Find whatever excuse to throw your character in Xanadu, tag someone new, and all around: GET IN HERE. Just as a note: hearing the plant is definitely optional, so please don't think it's an overwhelming sound that'd keep your character up at night or some such. It's just a log prompt. XD ]

[ The noisy distraction is, in fact, not that far away from Justin himself—apparently more than one hasty retreat was beaten after Justin snagged his sample. He's also, however, wearing an expression not unlike Justin's previously as he peers over. ]

Couldn't be satisfied picking leaves off the regular trees?

The regular trees don't have teeth.

I wouldn't do anything that asinine on a dare. [How dare you question his maturity!]

Were you trying to get it to eat you?

You heard it calling, right? Would've been a shame not to talk back.

It looked more like you were taunting it.

Grow--? No. No, I wouldn't want a houseplant that sings. I'd like to graft it on to something quieter and smaller... make a hybrid. I doubt it'll work, but I can at least see if it has a nervous system.

[ He dismisses it with a wave—startling a little, sourly, as he sees that his cigarette's gone out. ]

You do this a lot?

[Running from man-eating plants will do that to cigarettes.]

I clip plants a lot. The circumstances are usually different, though.

I'd hope so. Can't be many of those in the world.

No, there can't be. We'd hear them.

All day. Someone's going to find a way to kill it if it keeps this up all night, too.

[In a most uncharacteristic act of furthering-interactions-with-people, he pulls a lighter his pocket and offers it to Frau.]

[ Accepting it, he relights the stick before passing the lighter back. A grimace twitches at his mouth as he inhales, but that passes too. ]

Sure about that? It ain't that loud.

I'm not sure about anything, but I don't think the odds are in the plant's favor if it keeps singing.

Sounds like a pretty big hassle for twenty-four hours of peace.

[othersdie]

Maybe it isn't here for a day visit. Maybe it's a permanent addition to the garden.

Che. And the folks running this place've got a good handle on the dead too, right?
