CHARACTERS: Everyone.
SUMMARY: we interrupt your regular Xanadu viewing for the following special reminder: ...the visit ain't over til the bloody plant sings.

That's right: our green belle been giving rather obnoxious titillating performances in Xanadu, to what can only be the... enjoyment... of certain Citizens. Adding injury to insult, it's quite possible that a couple of residents have also captured the plant's tune on film, and now the video's been turned into a network viral phenomenon!

But as Citizens surely know, every grand artist needs a doting live audience: come get dibs on more plant footage? Save someone from its evil clutches? Help a poor soul that's got lost in the gardens' great expanse? Get the plant to sign with your talent agency? Embark on a mystical quest to get it to shut up?

Just put your chlorophyll-tinted glasses on, and anything is possible.


[ ooc: Find whatever excuse to throw your character in Xanadu, tag someone new, and all around: GET IN HERE. Just as a note: hearing the plant is definitely optional, so please don't think it's an overwhelming sound that'd keep your character up at night or some such. It's just a log prompt. XD ]

[He aims to please, of course. He sticks his hands in his pockets, looking to the plant now as he fishes out a pack of gum.]

And checking up on singing plants is included in yours?

[ Pocketing his tricorder now and stepping away. ]

Just trying to get a read on it.

Hm.

[Raymond takes another step back as well, still eying the plant with some wariness.]

Has it actually eaten anyone yet?

Not that I've seen. If it had, I sure as hell wouldn't be doing this.

[saidrepent]

That's a relief. [He pauses, which doesn't do much for the maybe-half-sincerity of his words.] You'd think a predator wouldn't advertise itself like that.

[mintjulep]

Look how well it's drawing us to come look at it, though. One wrong step and it has a meal.

[saidrepent]

[He snorts.] Good point... Besides that, I guess anyone who gets too close after all that singing would just be a victim of natural selection.

[He's been dealing with his pack of gum this entire time, remaining nonchalant as he's pulled out a piece and rolled it around his mouth. He pauses before sticking the pack back in his pocket, though, and instead holds it out to the doctor, wordlessly offering.]

More or less. [ Though he'd still do his best to save them, of course.

There's a blink at the wordless offer of gum, and then Bones nods, reaching out to take a piece. ]

[He nods in response, sliding the pack back into his pocket and looking back to the plant.]

Wonder what it eats whenever it can't snap up a whole person.

Animals, probably. Birds, insects, squirrels...
