CHARACTERS: Everyone.
SUMMARY: we interrupt your regular Xanadu viewing for the following special reminder: ...the visit ain't over til the bloody plant sings.

That's right: our green belle been giving rather obnoxious titillating performances in Xanadu, to what can only be the... enjoyment... of certain Citizens. Adding injury to insult, it's quite possible that a couple of residents have also captured the plant's tune on film, and now the video's been turned into a network viral phenomenon!

But as Citizens surely know, every grand artist needs a doting live audience: come get dibs on more plant footage? Save someone from its evil clutches? Help a poor soul that's got lost in the gardens' great expanse? Get the plant to sign with your talent agency? Embark on a mystical quest to get it to shut up?

Just put your chlorophyll-tinted glasses on, and anything is possible.


[ ooc: Find whatever excuse to throw your character in Xanadu, tag someone new, and all around: GET IN HERE. Just as a note: hearing the plant is definitely optional, so please don't think it's an overwhelming sound that'd keep your character up at night or some such. It's just a log prompt. XD ]

[ Ah, well, she doesn't need much encouragement. ]

If I could control plants, I'd think of better things to do with them. Definitely teach them to walk, for starters.

[othersdie]

You wouldn't want carnivorous plants like that one to walk, would you?

[beifongbandit]

If I were crazy enough to make one of them, then yeah, probably. But normal me? Nah, it'd be nicer plants. Less teeth.

I suppose anyone who would bother making a large, carnivorous plant with teeth would be crazy.

Personally, I like plants that act like plants.

[beifongbandit]

The problem is that they're boring. Normal plants. Give me a good rock any day.

[othersdie]

How are rocks more interesting than plants?

[beifongbandit]

I can do more with them.

[ She pulls a bracelet out from under her sleeve and folds it into a square with a minimum of effort. Then she tosses it into the air and catches it. She likes demonstrations. ]

[othersdie]

[He is appropriately impressed, but slightly skeptical. Surely that wasn't really rock.]

May I see that? [gestures towards the ex-bracelet]

[beifongbandit]

Sure. [ She holds it out in his general direction. ]

[othersdie]

[He takes it--honestly, it hasn't occurred to him that Toph can't see--and...]

It's actually rock. ...How did you do that?

[beifongbandit]

It's called earthbending. [ She grins. ] It's kind of my thing. I'm the best earthbender in the world.

[othersdie]

Earthbending. What all does that entail?

[beifongbandit]

Moving around rock, dirt, metal... anything like that. And reading the vibrations in the ground. Great for fighting. [ She seems enthused by this idea. ]

[othersdie]

You fight using dirt.

[That's not the dumbest thing he's heard, but it's up there.]

[beifongbandit]

[ She can hear the disbelief in his voice, and elbows him for it. Not particularly gently. ] I can bury you up to your neck in a second, you know. Or toss boulders at you.

[othersdie]

[How can someone so tiny have such a strong elbow? Ow. Perhaps he shouldn't doubt Toph's abilities.] Nn--I'd rather take your word for it than encourage you to give me a demonstration.

[beifongbandit]

Smart guy. Some people need the demonstration.

[ She reforms her bracelet back into a bracelet and puts it back on. ]
