CHARACTERS: Everyone.
SUMMARY: we interrupt your regular Xanadu viewing for the following special reminder: ...the visit ain't over til the bloody plant sings.

That's right: our green belle been giving rather obnoxious titillating performances in Xanadu, to what can only be the... enjoyment... of certain Citizens. Adding injury to insult, it's quite possible that a couple of residents have also captured the plant's tune on film, and now the video's been turned into a network viral phenomenon!

But as Citizens surely know, every grand artist needs a doting live audience: come get dibs on more plant footage? Save someone from its evil clutches? Help a poor soul that's got lost in the gardens' great expanse? Get the plant to sign with your talent agency? Embark on a mystical quest to get it to shut up?

Just put your chlorophyll-tinted glasses on, and anything is possible.


[ ooc: Find whatever excuse to throw your character in Xanadu, tag someone new, and all around: GET IN HERE. Just as a note: hearing the plant is definitely optional, so please don't think it's an overwhelming sound that'd keep your character up at night or some such. It's just a log prompt. XD ]

[ He has no idea what the hell this bird thing is, but it looks fairly tame, so he'll take it. ]

[Sephiroth just smiles in response to this. The bird settles down, although it clearly wants to be returned to Sephiroth.

He turns toward the plant, and then, to all appearances, disappears. He appears again a moment later, near the plant, but only for a few instants, before he returns to McCoy's side with the samples.]

[ Blink.

Blink.

Blink. ]

... That was fast.

I'm capable of limited range teleportation, and my speed is far beyond that of an average human.

[He says this like it's no big deal. After all, everyone's aware of it at home.]

There a reason for that?

I'm genetically enhanced.

[He doesn't know about the part alien virus part.]

[ Ugh. Eugenics. His favorite, after the mess they made of history. ]

That common where you come from?

No, most people aren't strong enough to withstand the process.

[If only it were just eugenics.]

The only ones so enhanced are members of SOLDIER, an elite fighting force.

[Or so he thinks. He frowns, briefly. The current state of SOLDIER, and the scientists responsible, have been a cause of many of his recent troubles.]

[ It's a gruff comment, the line of his mouth hard and his eyes dark to match. ]

You're quite right.

[He wouldn't say this at home, but it's a bit of a relief to be able to speak openly, without consequences.]

The scientists responsible for the project have been irresponsible--I would say criminal, save for the fact that the government sanctioned their actions.

Governments can still be criminal.

[ He's still frowning, but-- ]

We had Eugenics Wars, in the history of my world.

I mean technically, in that they cannot be prosecuted under our current laws.

We've had a related war as well, still ongoing, where I'm from. [It had been Genesis and Angeal's degradation and mutation that had started it all, and such great power had made them difficult to combat. They were gone now, but the war might not be over.] What happened, in your world?
