CHARACTERS: Everyone.
SUMMARY: we interrupt your regular Xanadu viewing for the following special reminder: ...the visit ain't over til the bloody plant sings.

That's right: our green belle been giving rather obnoxious titillating performances in Xanadu, to what can only be the... enjoyment... of certain Citizens. Adding injury to insult, it's quite possible that a couple of residents have also captured the plant's tune on film, and now the video's been turned into a network viral phenomenon!

But as Citizens surely know, every grand artist needs a doting live audience: come get dibs on more plant footage? Save someone from its evil clutches? Help a poor soul that's got lost in the gardens' great expanse? Get the plant to sign with your talent agency? Embark on a mystical quest to get it to shut up?

Just put your chlorophyll-tinted glasses on, and anything is possible.


[ ooc: Find whatever excuse to throw your character in Xanadu, tag someone new, and all around: GET IN HERE. Just as a note: hearing the plant is definitely optional, so please don't think it's an overwhelming sound that'd keep your character up at night or some such. It's just a log prompt. XD ]

Oh! Cain! [She waves over at him before making her way closer. She looks relieved to see him.]

[He startles at first but then smiles politely, still a bit unnerved by his ordeal.]

It's so good to see you. I was worried. The police questioned me when you were gone.

[His smile tenses. He hadn't thought things had gone quite so far, though he should have known, really.]

I am sorry you had to endure that.

[Forgive him if he has some dislike of the police. It's a holdover from his own world.]

[She shakes her head.] I'm sure those are my words you've taken. [That's not a proper way to conduct a conversation, Cain. Not proper at all!] I didn't mind at all. I just wish I had something more helpful to say to them.

What I endured hardly seems to be something for which you should apologise. And you hadn't anything helpful to tell them--that's hardly your fault either.

Well, the only thing I endured was talking to my friend, Derek, on your behalf and that doesn't require an apology either. I'm just glad you're back.

I should thank you for speaking with him, really, since that did result in my rescue. They knew better where not to search, thanks to you.

[I mean, he does it all the time in his own amateur investigative ordeals...]

That's a little distressing, but we should take what we can. He does have a lovely voice. [She cocks her head just a little.] Do you expect it on some days, just not this one? [You're such a curious man, Cain.]

That is the way of things here: we should enjoy what we can when we can. And yes, surprisingly, he does have a lovely voice--even for a plant.

No, no, that's not at all what I meant. I only meant that I never expect a performance--but here we have one.

I thought for a moment you were an educated fan of singing plants, and I wasn't sure I was surprised by it.

I hope his song isn't so...serious as it sounds, but better to be safe. [She reaches out to take his arm. That's the way you go for a walk after all.]

[He offers it happily, of course. In fact, he's rather pleased with the gesture. It seems perfectly fitting.]

You've had enough adventure lately. You shouldn't have to save princesses from man-eating plants too.

I do thank you for your consideration. Though, I'm quite sure I could save a princess from a man-eating plant, if I did need to.

But perhaps it's best for both of us that we not tempt such a thing.

I agree. I'm less certain I could save an Earl, but I would try. [She gives him a fond smile.]
