Summary; Beach in the City party is a go!! Wear pretty swimsuits and have a good time!

The City square is decorated like the beach. Of course there's so much sand at this point that Dawn only has to accessorize to prepare for the party. There are beach chairs and umbrellas, over-sized towels. Two slip-n-slides have been set up. There are several different sizes of water guns along with several kiddie pools scattered about. Beach balls are rolling around in the fountain area. There are a few kegs scattered about along with some coolers full of the 'special' kind of fruit punch.

One area is sectioned off for the band performance. Time Bomb will be performing a few sets during the evening in between the partying. The scene is set for a good time, so show up, mingle and have one!

Buffy wouldn't expect anything less. "Right and how better to leave things to the imagination than just forget that naked days ever happen."

"I'll do some forgetting for now. But only because you did awesome with the slip-and-slides. I still have to try them out but they look fun anyway." Dawn is looking around the party, watching to see if anything needs her attention. "Besides, my boobs were practically hanging out of my dress, according to some people."

"Yeah. It was pretty...out there. Not that I have room to talk but it's a curse I'd rather not repeat."

Buffy is pretty much just enjoying the party.

"Maybe the deities got their fill of that one with all the nakedness and show-off-y-ness of people and we'll never have to do that one again." Dawn can hope, right? She grabs Buffy's hand in hers and starts off toward the fountain with its many sprouts that shoot water up into the air from the ground. "Wanna run through the sprinklers with me?"

"Wouldn't be a beach party without sprinkler-running-through."

And they're off, hitting the sprinklers with squeal.

Yep, there is squealage as soon as Dawn hits the water, her feet splashing through the wet ground and the sprouts of water falling over them from overhead. She never once lets go of Buffy's hand. "At least it's not freezing cold!"

Buffy slides and slips but keeps her balance as they run through the fountain. She's holding tight to dawn's hand both to keep her from falling and to keep from falling.

"Yeah we definitely wouldn't be taking a dip in bikinis if it were."

Of course as Buffy slides and slips, that psyches Dawn out and she gets a little wobbly on her feet too. Her grip on Buffy's hand instinctively tightens as she loses her balance. She hits the ground hard, her legs slipping out from beneath her so that she lands squarely on her backside. She finally lets go of Buffy's hand, crosses her arms over her chest and offers up a perfect pout and an arched brow. "I totally meant to do that."

Buffy would ask if Dawn was alright but the pout and the brow arching answers that question for her. She extends a hand out to help Dawn up.

"Of course you did. I'll swear to it if anyone asks me."

Dawn takes the offered hand and lets her sister help her to her feet. She dusts herself off and then just stands under one of the spouts of water so it can wash the grit off of her. She smiles a bit at her sister, appreciative of her tone.

"What I wouldn't give for Slayer grace sometimes. Like now or when I go out dancing or when I'm attacked by monsters or when I'm walking up or down stairs."

Buffy tries to be understanding and sympathetic. She remembers what it's like to not have super powers.

"It's got it's disadvantages too. Bad hours, horrible pay, no appreciation. And it's hell on the wardrobe."

"See, to a less mopey person all of that turns into no curfew, heroic deeds that need no appreciation cause... heroic, and yay shopping for new clothes! I think we covered the whole making people pay thing with Anya a few years ago."

She wrinkles her nose and pushes her hair back from her face as she steps out from beneath the spray. "Time is weird. That feels like forever ago but really it wasn't that long ago. I kind of miss Anya. Is that weird? I never thought I'd miss Anya. I mean, when I make a list of people I miss, she usually isn't on it. But right now, I kind of do miss her."

"So says less mopey person who was on the outside looking in."

Never mind that Dawn wasn't technically alive when Buffy was in the thick of those emotions. Buffy remembers the day her parents brought Dawn home so as far as she's concerned, Dawn's always been there.

"No. I get it. And Anya made up for it I think. In the end."

"That's me, outside looking in girl." Gee thanks for playing on her most insecure insecurity of all the insecurities, Buffy. Dawn starts out of the fountain, moving away from her sister and simultaneously taking a deep breath and putting on her brave bravado face before turning back outside of all the wet.

"So do you think this whole sand thing is apocalypse impending, mopey inside girl? Cause some people think it might be."

She could have worded that better. "Different shoes, Dawnie."

She follows Dawn out of the fountain, wringing her hair out as she goes.

"I don't think it's the beginning stages of a Sandals Resort so...probably isn't of the good variety but at the same time so far...it's just sand so less threaten-y more puzzle-y. At least for the moment. What are other people thinking?"

"Well if it keeps up, it's possible that the buildings themselves could get all sandy and even worse, people. Instead of Lot's wife we'd have the Deadly Desert and a sign that says Beware the Wheelers... which would be super duper with the creepiness. I mean... sand people or not people don't hold together all that well."

She takes Buffy's hand and leads her over to one of the large coolers filled with pink trashcan punch and busies herself with filling two glasses, one for herself and one for her sister.

Buffy makes an ewww face. "We really don't need melty people. Or sand melting people or statues that used to be people because that's creepy. I'd also prefer to not have deadly deserts and wheelers." She pauses a second, scrunching her nose up a bit. "Wait. What are wheelers?"

Buffy takes the cup and takes a sip. "Mmmm the punch was an excellent idea. Full of yummy goodness."
