Log: Ongoing
When; Morning of December 16th
Rating; PG, most likely
Characters; Dietrich (
evilsincebirth), Lelouch (
geassed), and Nunnally (
brother_love)
Summary; Lelouch wants to see Nunnally, and in the meantime find out precisely what happened the last time he was here.
Log;
He found his way to the designated meeting place with hardly any difficulty. It was a good idea to have gone out with Cheza into the heart of the City the evening before -- he had now ensured that getting lost would not be an issue.
The sun was shining brightly -- almost too brightly for seven-thirty in the morning, and Lelouch had to wonder: was this one of those curses he'd heard mentioned? That the sun would be up and shining so brightly this early? Either way, he had no complaints. At the moment, it would help him greatly. In this situation, no suspicion would arise from him wearing his new sunglasses everywhere.
When he arrived at the café, it was clear that neither of the two had arrived. Good -- Lelouch purposely asked for a seat outside, and the waiter brought him there almost immediately. He sat down, leaning back against the seat, and waited for his sister and ally to arrive.

She had her hands politely folded in her lap, letting the breeze caused by the movement cool her down a little. It was hot for such an early time in the morning but she didn't care. Nunnally also wished to go faster but didn't want to bother Dietrich-san, who was pushing her in her wheelchair. She had to be content with listening, hoping she could hear something familiar from Lelouch before they got to their destination.

But Lelouch was more his style. So idealistic in his views that would be those types who searched thousands of excuses to justify the red stains on their hands. He was a terrorist with a purpose and not a serial killer with megalomania. Hmmm. If Light wasn’t so useful and amusing, he would have been doubled crossed long ago.
“It’s hot, isn’t it?” complained the Puppetmaster, pushing the wheelchair on the scarce shade under the abrasive sun. Why was so hot?! He had the good sense to see the weather before dressing, at the very least, and hadn’t tried a sweater or scarf for the meeting.
Café Juliet appeared to not be more than a few steps afar, finally, the moment he could sit and ask for a cold drink, would make him happier. The weather in Carthago had been as bad as this one. He caught the sight of Lelouch, sitting outside and wearing dark shades. Dietrich cursed inwardly his customer’s choice. Why not inside with the privileged of air conditioner?
His foul mood was perfectly masked with a smile and cheerful semblance. Two old “friends” meeting again, he had to appear the part.
“We’re here, Nunnally,” Dietrich announced, stopping in front of Lelouch’s table. “Good morning, Lelouch. You arrived early.”

He then turned to Dietrich. "Thank you for bringing her here," he said, eying the man calculatingly. He seemed all right enough -- and he was taking good care of his sister -- but ... well, Lelouch would see if Dietrich really was as close a friend or ally as he claimed to be.
"Yes, I wasn't sure if I'd get lost," he said, lips quirking upwards in a slight smile. It made him seem like a regular teenager, and not one with a dangerous power. "I chose a seat outside -- it's too nice a day to waste. But the waiter's putting up an umbrella as we speak. I hope that's agreeable?"
no subject
"Onii-sama! I'm doing perfectly fine. You've been taking good care of yourself, right?"
no subject
Giving a short bow, he shook his head and hands in fake modesty. “I’m not as cruel as to separate family like that. Nunnally is also a well-behaved girl that couldn’t disturb anyone.” He glanced at the table, sighing and unbuttoning the collar of his shirt to relax. “I’m still not used to this hot weather, but, if Nunnally prefers outdoors, the lady’s prerogative is mine.”
He scratched his cheek in the most agreeable mood.

He did turn to answer her question, though, smiling faintly. "Yes, yes, of course I have." It was not much of a lie -- he was not injured in any way, after all, and here, every problem he'd had (as well as his purpose) had totally disappeared.

She gave a fake exasperated sigh, hoping to give Lelouch back some of the worry he had graciously given to her over the years. "If it isn't too much trouble, I think it would be better inside. It might get a little warmer as the day goes on and I don't think we should risk getting sick from it."
no subject
His smile grew, approving the innocuous choice.
"Inside it is," he remarked, letting Lelouch take care of his sister while he opened the door for them. "It does seem to get worse and worse, hmm? As long the streets don't boil like happened months ago."
no subject
"If you insist," he said, taking the handles of his sister's wheelchair to relieve Dietrich of his duty. "Why don't you go ahead and pick a table, then, Dietrich?"
no subject
From the question Lelouch asked Dietrich, it sounded as if Lelouch wanted some time alone with Nunnally. She kept quiet and still, not wanting to make a mistake by speaking up.

Either way, the Puppetmaster didn't care and giving a light shrug, walked away, saying:
"Of course. I'll pick my usual table."
He settled down near a fan on a table next to a window. He looked at the door, back turned to the kitchen. He would see who came in and out this way. Safety was first. His fingers tapped on the table, not bothering to unfold the menu yet while he waited.

"Has he treated you well, Nunnally?" He inquired as he watched the other man's form move farther and farther away.
no subject
"Dietrich-san has been nothing but a perfect gentleman. Sometimes I wonder if he isn't trying to take your place."
Nunnally added a laugh to the end of her statement.
no subject
"That's good," he said with a smile, pushing all his suspicions behind a pleasant veneer for the moment. "I'm glad you've been taken care of. I never meant to leave you alone."
