Log: Ongoing
When: December 17th/18th
Rating: Teen
Characters: Alucard [
thekingofpain] and D [
favored_son]
Summary: Alucard's methods of expressing fatherly concern may be a little odd, but the sentiment is still appreciated.
Log:
With the sun's refusal to set, D's body compensated by drawing him deeper into sleep. It would have been easy for a stranger to mistake the hunter for a vampire or a fresh corpse if they happened upon him. With skin cool to the touch, a heart barely beating, and lungs drawing only a token offering of air, D barely fell within the physical parameters required of the living. His parasite had grown tired of the inactivity several hours ago, and finally decided that the best way to pass the time without leaving his watch was to burrow into his host's body and take a nap. He'd feel it if D started to overheat, but he didn't think the problem was likely to arise unless the curse continued into the next day.

That didn't mean the parasite was going to follow D's example and keep quiet.
"He's going to need a bath when he gets up now, you know."

And of course, the fierce joy that D belonged to him.

I am not worried. I can feel him.
But of course, there was always the irrational worry of a parent over their child. That something, anything, might happen to take that child away.

When midnight came around, the parasite got its wish. D didn't even bother to open his eyes before he asked in a voice barely touched by fatigue, "What, exactly, are you doing?" He wasn't talking to Left Hand, either.

The hellhound said, and if dogs could smirk, it surely was, caught mid-lick. A paw settled on D's chest before the hound curled around him again, the size of a small pony.
I am spending quality time with my son, what does it look like?

The hellhound replied, shifting it's great weight to ..encourage.. D to remain prone.
Though, yes, now that you mention, it is midnight. Your mother was worried. And you will not tell her about how said quality time was spent.

Because your father is neither emotional nor insane and you enjoy that.

The hellhound replied and settled in next to D again, paw and head still pinning his son down in case D attempted to move. Though Alucard, at this point, fairly knew he would not.

A smirk touched the hellhound's jowls as those eight eyes slipped closed.
No arguments. This is a direct order from your mother.
