Incomplete
When; Before the monster plot
Rating; pg
Characters; Artemis and The Doctor (four)
Summary; Artemis and The Doctor get together to compare notes and technology. Much apologies to Artemismun for the lateness.
Log; The Doctor, or rather the fourth incarnation of the man; was sitting in a corner booth, legs on the booth across from him and hat tipped down over his face. He was doing his best not to think on matters; though he knew he would have to sooner or later. Now just wasn't the sooner.
Romana's do sat next to him, his arm slung over the puppy as if it were K9 himself. As for the computer, it sat on the ground scanning the room. He had given him the specifics that they knew of this boy and of course, he would alert him to the presence. Till then he thought he'd have a nice nap.

Obviously if the man really was the Doctor, he would already have his data with in the unit. Doing so would give him a chance to relax until the one he was to meet arrived. How wonderfully fascinating.
"The Doctor, I assume?"

As for The Doctor himself; he looked nothing spectacular. When he removed his hat from his face; eyes darting to Aremis; you couldn't really tell there was anything different about him at all. He looked like a normal mid-forty year old human. With fluffy hair and a bit of an eccentric taste in clothing. Though he firmly held that at least it wasn't crushed velvet suits – besides, he thought he looked rather dashing in the trench coat, scarf and hat. Very much like a detective.
“Correct. Artemis.” It wasn't so much a question as a statement. Yes, this was Artemis, the boy he had been speaking to. Even though really, he'd never met the boy. Pulling one hand out of his pocket he offered the boy a small open bag. “Jelly baby?” Always best to greet the new with sweets – and The Doctor just liked jelly babies.
[ooc: sorry it took so long. The event kicked my ass.]

"No, thank you," he replied finally before taking a seat across from the Doctor. "I never have been one for sweets. They might keep me up at night." He smiled at his own joke. Really, he was getting better at humor.
"I must say that your appearance seems to differ from the other Doctor. Do all of your incarnations have different looks?"
(OOC: No problem!)

After all, Adric was a mathematical genius from negative space - though, he had to admit that it hadn't been his intent to bring the boy along. Artemis reminded him a bit of Adric actually. Both keen to learn it seemed; though he did wonder if Artemis was a damn sight better at listening to orders then his assistants were. As for it, he would probably never know.
At the declining of the jelly baby he returned the bag to his pocket. Then there was the question. Everyone who saw more then one of his incarnations seemed to be curious about that. Some were confused and didn't quite believe he was himself - that was often a bit annoying; but he was used to it.
"Ah yes. Each incarnation has different tastes and mannerisms. The feelings and knowledge from the last is always there. Just takes a bit to jostle the old memory sometimes." He smiled brightly and gestured to his head, remembering when he had chanced to the him that he was now. He hadn't remembered anyone from before; but that was more due to the nature of his death then anything in his physiology.

"Then you are able to recall memories from other lives if you try hard enough?" Imagine the possibilities of being about to remember such things. Past experiences. All the knowledge gained over the years. It would revolutionize...
He really did need to stop thinking like that. Thoughts like that were how he kept getting into trouble. A fact Holly would point out to him if she new. Butler as well if he were there.

All of this was perfectly natural to him; so it was a bit difficult to explain. Of course, with everything he knew about the universe, species and other random tidbits, he never really found much confusing anymore.
"Regeneration is just like .." He thought about this for a long moment; puzzled on what to use as the human equivalent.
no subject
Other people who claimed to recall past lives stated that they were entirely different people. Sometimes beings. Not once did they have a solitary identity.
"And I have witnessed individuals escaping death. Not the same as regeneration but a close enough comparison."

He leaned back as the waitress came by to take their order. His was a nice slice of pie and a cup of tea. He loved tea. Nothing like a good cup of tea to make everything fantastic again.

Artemis glanced up at the waitress when she turned to him next. Before she could say anything, he quickly made his own order. Tea. Preferably Earl Grey. He had gotten enough sarcasm and teasing in the past about his age at diners, restaurants, and such.
When she was gone, he returned his attention to the Doctor. "Those events took place around three years ago."

When their drinks and such arrived he grinned broadly at ; showing a nice round of his teeth. This version had a very wide smile. "Ah, I've missed pie." Of course he dug the fork in and took a nice bite.
no subject
Artemis accepted his tea with a nod to the waitress as he observed the man. Interesting. His smile reminded him of Mulch somewhat.

"What sort of thing did you use for it?" He was referring to the controls. Seeing where this was going he was rather sure they'd be moving this to the TARDIS soon enough. After all, it wasn't as if it was going anywhere.

"I imagine you are expecting some detailed analysis of some futuristic machine," he began thoughtfully, "That is something I cannot provide though. You see, when I journeyed through time and space it was using magic."
no subject
There were a few long minutes of pure thought before he suddenly and without warning asked. "What sort of magic?" He was really never one to believe in magic. Everything had a scientific background - one only had to find it.
no subject
"It was a mixture really. At the time there was demon, fairy, and a human with newly acquired powers working to save multiple worlds at the same time."
no subject
The several worlds caught him as well. Of course he knew there were many times and realities out there. He'd been to a good few himself. It was which ones he was curious about. Had he visited them? "Which world's were these? All versions of Earth?"
no subject
"They are the worlds that belong to those who were apart of the circle." A vague answer at best but there really was no need to elaborate.

There was a long moment of thought before he pointed at the boy. "I think I've got something to show you." Looking down a moment he asked the metal dog a quick question. "Has Romana come back yet?" The lights on the front blinked and the small satellite dish turned back and forth before the dog responded a negative.
"Thought not. Can't feel her at all." He thought it best to double check. It really wasn't as if he missed her - or even that he believed that she'd be back ever. Just, checking out of habit he supposed. He waved the waitress over; casually commenting to Artimes. "Once ate at one of the best places once ..." It almost sounded as if he was going to continue, but he adjusted his hat and scarf instead; taking up the check and waiting for the boy.

The man was very...strange, he decided. Though, that fact only made him more interesting and deepened the curiosity he was currently feeling. What could he wish to show him?
Setting the now empty cup aside, he gave his companion a small smile. Of course, he basically had all the time in the world to go where the man was taking him. But, there was no time like that present. Perhaps, puberty was making him a little bit impatient. Artemis refused to show that to anyone though. "Very well, I am ready. What is it you wanted to show me?"
no subject
There was his tenth regeneration he supposed. Oh hell, then he'd be what, an uncle? That just sounded odd. An uncle to one's self. No, it wasn't right. Neither of them could have children. Rubbish, complete rubbish.
When he heard the question from the boy he was more then thankful. You think about something like that for too long your brain was bound to implode. In reply however, he just smiled and tapped his finger to his nose. It was a secret. Besides; explaining the TARDIS was a bit difficult - you had to see it.
"Come along K9, mustn't dawdle." He started swiftly towards the TARDIS, Romana's dog, K9 and he rather hoped Artemis in tow. There was a slight pause as he looked back to the boy. "Do you make a good cup of tea?"
no subject
Keeping up with the man was easier than Artemis expected even if he did feel a slight strain on his lungs. He really should think about getting in better shape. This was just ridiculous. However, once Butler arrived he wouldn't have to worry about that.
Strange that he still believed the man would arrive. Though, it was understandable. On the other hand, maybe he did rely on him a bit too heavily. That didn't stop him from wanting his companion...
He was pulled from his own thoughts by the Doctor's question. "I am afraid you would not like anything that resulted me doing things in the kitchen. I have never cooked for myself before. Butler has always done that for me.

He fumbled a bit, checking pockets - of which he had several, until he pulled out a key. He used it to unlock the box and gesture the boy inside the TARDIS.
no subject
Once the door was unlocked, he didn't even bother hesitating as he stepped inside. Curiosity...he should probably learn to keep that in check.
no subject
However, the thing that probably attracted Artemis' attention lay in the middle of the room. This was the control console used to fly, navigate, and do all other things regarding the TARDIS. There was, of course, the way to the other rooms within the 'call box', but the heart of all things was that console.
The Doctor casually tossed his hat onto the rack and buried his hands in his pockets once again. "Welcome to my TARDIS." Oh he enjoyed that expression. It'd been too long. Shame the boy couldn't make a decent cup of tea.
no subject
"The TARDIS. Wonderful..." he said with his voice filled with admiration. If wasn't for the fact that he might consider it demeaning, he would have learned to make decent tea. There was only so much he was willing to do though.
"To fit all of this into such a small space. I have seen something similar but never to this extent."
