Summary; Mina goes out to meet Skinner who has newly arrived in the City.

She would never admit it, but she was actually happy to him. It had been nearly a year since she was brought to the City. The last person she wanted to see from her world was Dorian Gray, but at least this time around the City had been merciful and sent an ally instead of an enemy.

Mina made her way down to the fountain. Outwardly she gave nothing away, but inwardly she probably could have hugged Skinner. Well if she trusted him not to take liberties, which she did not. Nevertheless, the black hat and the leather duster was a welcomed sight.


"Skinner." She called out to get his attention.

"Oh I think my job pays well enough for me to afford a few drinks," Mina replied with a hint of amusement.

"Is that so?" Skinner said, equally amused. "And what is it, my darling, that you're doing these days?"

"I'm a nurse at the local hospital. It is nothing fancy but it pays well," Mina replied simple shrug. "The pub is not much further."

"Nurse," Skinner repeated. "Would think you'd get a bit funny with all the blood and that."

"I do have self control, Skinner," Mina said glancing over to him. "Besides not all blood is appetizing. Would you find rotten food in a garbage can appetizing?"

"Uuugh," Rodney said, blanching. "I get the point."

"I thought you might. We're here," Mina replied, pointing toward the large building, that was the Coliseum Pub.

"Now that is a pub," Skinner said. "After you, my darlin'."

Mina smiled amused and headed toward the door. "They offer food and board here as well. So if you end up feeling hungry you can get something to eat here." She mentioned over her shoulder as she moved to open the door.

"Believe me, after the trash comment it'll take a while before my stomach is up for it," Skinner said, shaking his head a bit.

Mina allowed herself a small chuckle. "After a couple of drinks I'm certain you shall forget all about it," she said stepping inside the pub.

Skinner followed, not able to disagree on that point. "So this is the point where I ask you what all you've been up to since we last met, isn't it?"

"As I say on the network earlier. I've been stuck in this world for nearly a year. I have not been doing much of anything, except working at the hospital and dealing with the curses in this place," she said, walking over a table and motioning for a waitress to come over.

"Scotch," Skinner told the waitress, before turning his attention back to Mina. "And I've mainly been getting over those damn burns I earned myself. Only just cleared up and then pow, off I am to this place."

"I'll have the same," Mina said with a nod toward the waitress. "Well at least you got the chance to heal before you were pulled in. There have been others who were not as fortunate. There are many theories as to way any of us are brought here, but no concrete evidence to support any of them," she said, turning back to Skinner.

"Maybe the city thought you needed a friend," Skinner joked.

"Heh, at this point I am thankful they did not send another enemy. My old friend Lucy, recently disappeared and then you appeared. You joke but that could very well be why you brought to this place," Mina replied in amusement.

Back in his mind, Skinner really hoped the city never felt the need to send Agent Sawyer their direction. He nodded in agreement to Mina's statement.

"So Dorian... are we going to need to deal with 'im again?"

"Unfortunately, this place does not let the dead stay dead. Otherwise I would have hunted him down and killed him like the vermin he is..." Mina trailed off as the waitress brought them their drinks.

"Well, at least that works in our favor, since he can't be killing us, then," Skinner said, finally taking off his hat.

"Yes, well there is a setback. Once you have been killed in this place...there is no hope of ever returning home," Mina said, picking up her glass.

"...then I still say we kill that bastard," Skinner said, pickin up his own glass to take a sip. It was always a little disturbing to see the liquid going down Skinner's throat until it somehow went invisible in his innards. "Cause I don't like the idea of him getting out."

"Well if you can find his portrait, then we can truly discuss killing him. As long as he has it hidden somewhere. He cannot be killed," Mina replied, taking a quick drink.

"God, what if 'e is here, but the painting's back out... wherever. That's a bit of a disturbing concept," Skinner said.

"I think it likely is in the City. He would be a bit more worried if he were completely cut off from it. Remember I used it to kill him and when I did it was in his room at Moriarity's base. Him being alive here means he had to be brought here before I killed him and after he betrayed us," she explained, taking a sip of her drink.
