Summary; Tea Party at Kabuto's
Log;
Kabuto frowned down at himself for the hundredth time. For some reason his shirt was missing, all of his shirts were missing. Why it happened today, he didn't know, but he was going to try and not let it interfere.

He had spent most of the previous day, and all of that morning preparing for having guests over. He had made cakes, cookies, pies, dango, sandwiches and all sorts of snacks, as well as prepared the tea (also picked up the milk and orange juice). Once everything was ready to his liking, he had started moving the food to the balcony, having set up a table and chairs out there.

Honestly, Kabuto had no idea how many people would be showing up, this could end up being a small event. Even so, he had done what he could to make sure there was enough for those he knew would be arriving shortly, and whoever else might be showing up.

He examined his handy work one last time; satisfied with what he saw, he returned to the inside of his apartment, waiting for guests to arrive.

Edit: Put who the comment is directed at in the subject, if it doesn't have one anyone can say something or hear what is said.

Shizune finally ventured from the confines of her room in the apartment, self-consciously tugging close her yukata, as her chest was slightly more visible without the mesh underneath.

"Kabuto." She said in a form of greeting, looking about at the final product. It really was nice, as she hadn't seen it since she'd finished helping a bit last night. She didn't know how many people would show, but she did hope the people from Konoha outweighed the number from Sound and Akatsuki.

"Yes, my mesh undershirt." She tried not to make the small embarressment too obvious, but couldn't help it at the sight of Kabuto walking about cheerily without a shirt.

"You too, it seems." She looked about. "I do hope others will not be showing up semi-nude. Or nude either, for that matter. What a horrible coincidence that the curse would be today."

Tayuya stood outside the door, a disgruntled look upon her face. She shifted her hips back and forth uneasily, trying to watch the flaps on the tunic to make sure they stayed put in front and behind. Not having any pants was a fucking inconvenience, and having to go to a tea-party with Kimimaro and hosted by Kabuto was not making it better any time soon. Looking at Kimimaro beside her and shooting a 'this is not fun' glare, she rapped on the door to the apartment. Loudly.

Shizune nodded, absently moving a tea cup around in it's place. "They do indeed." She shook her head at the very thought. "And they... better not." At the sound of the knock on the door, Shizune looked over at Kabuto. "You want to get that?"

Since the snake (currently nestled around the region of his collarbone) had naturally not consented to stay put where it had been conveniently wrapped around his waist, Kimimaro was now relegated to simply tying the kimono sleeves themselves instead, and leaving the upper half of his body exposed to the elements.

It was hardly pleasant, but nothing a proper shinobi couldn't take, and although Tayuya fidgeting with her uniform was amusing--the little devil had never looked so uncomfortable without his threatening her--it was also unnecessary. "I hope you will try to look a little more composed in front of Konoha," he noted as they waited.

"Yeah, yeah, like you don't look ridiculous at all." Tayuya sneered. "Why don't you have some of those bones poke out and you can be the goddamn coat rack?" She was grumpy today.

[identity profile] violentflutist.livejournal.com 2006-08-16 05:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Tayuya threw her hair back over her shoulder with a rather unladylike snort. "Good afternoon." She grit out. She figured she'd let Kimimaro tell Kabuto they'd moved in down the hall. Later.

She heard his voice as they passed by him into the apartment, ignoring it. Well, she wasn't ignoring it, she had survival instincts, but she acted as if she heard nothing. She instead made sure to keep checking on those tunic flaps every thirty seconds.

Kimimaro walked past Kabuto with a simple inclination of the head. "Kabuto-sensei. I see you are... well." It looked like he wouldn't be the only one walking around in... unconventional attire.

He also made sure Tayuya saw the look back he gave to reinforce Kabuto's aside, despite her constant looking down. I have not the time nor leisure to deal with your tomfoolery today. "... Ah. Have we arrived early?"

Shizune, to be perfectly frank, was not pleased to see either Tayuya nor Kimimaro. But she put on the biggest smile she could offer, a faint twitch in the corner of her mouth, and turned to greet them. If this turned into some sort of truce negotiation she needed to have been cordial.

"Tayuya... Kimimaro..." She nodded her head to each. "We've never met, but I've heard a lot about you."

Resting her hands on her hips, Tenten glanced behind to make sure Neji was still with her. He looked positively awkward in the clothes she'd managed to dig up but...

She consoled herself with the thought that it was better than before as she turned back to face the door. "Better get this over with..." The kunoichi mumbled to herself as she knocked politely on the door.

... He was starting to see, perhaps, why Kabuto-sensei had organized a tea-party of all things--the doctor was eminently fond of entertainment of certain varieties, and the half-nerved smile on Shizune's face fitted neatly into one of them. Then again, the Sound had to have something in common with one another.

Politeness covering menace like a cloak where he'd been glaring at his subordinate a moment ago, Kimimaro sank into a slight bow, curving a quelling hand on the snake at his neck. "Please to make your acquaintance. I've heard much made of your abilities in medical ninjutsu." Frankly, if she weren't in the entourage of one of the sannin, he'd never have given her a second glance.

[identity profile] violentflutist.livejournal.com 2006-08-16 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Tayuya watched Kimimaro fake that ugh, godforsaken polite bow and she rolled her eyes under the cover of moving a strand of hair. She waited till Kimimaro was done pretending to be nice before she said anything.

"I'm sure you have." She said, one hand on her hip and the other fiddling idly with her flute. "I won't say it's nice to meet you. It's not. But since we're not here to kill each other, hello."

[identity profile] medic-assistant.livejournal.com 2006-08-16 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Shizune bowed a bit in return to Kimimaro, her eyes watching the snake that brought her mind back to Orochimaru. At least he wasn't here. She nodded to Tayuya. She actually preffered the honesty in that statement to the malice veiled beneath Kimimaro.

She heard the knock at the door and seized it. "Kabuto, I'm sure, will see that you're served. I'll get the door."

[identity profile] medic-assistant.livejournal.com 2006-08-16 05:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Shizune walked to the door, thankful to get away from the Sound nin and let her smile slip. She opened it slowly and a real smile graced her features.

"Tenten, Neji." She said, opening the door wider. She shot a look behind her without moving her head to let them know of the prescense of part of the Sound Five. "Come in, come in. It's good to see you."

"Got orange juice?" Tayuya immediately asked. She hadn't had a glass in a long time, and she'd never liked tea. Too calm of a drink for her.

[identity profile] ossuarybouquet.livejournal.com 2006-08-16 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Kimimaro had already made a discreet beeline for the milk; now he turned from where he was holding the pitcher over a half-full glass and tilted his head, a glittering reptile gaze paralleling his own. "Thank you, sensei... Will you be wanting anything?"

[identity profile] violentflutist.livejournal.com 2006-08-16 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'll stick with the orange juice." Tayuya muttered, walking over and pouring herself a glass. She raised an eyebrow at the snake on Kimimaro. Weirdo. On instinct, she sniffed the glass for hints of poison. Sensing nothing, she downed the glass.

She gave the medical ninja a small grin as she slipped inside, dragging the older boy with her as she did so.

"I'm not sure how long we'll be here for, Shizune-san. But I hope it will be enjoyable." She winked merrily, glad to be doing something that didn't require spending any period of time underground fighting the smelly slow monster things.

"Enjoyable." Shizune shugged as she closed the door behind the two. "Yes... I hope so too." She hoped next time she opened the door it wouldn't be to be greeted by an Akatsuki.

She waved her arm towards the table of refreshments and food. "We have several foods to choose from, so you can help yourself."
