Cadman laid flat on the couch in the dark; blinds drawn and room silent. She sighed deeply, then winced as her pained stomach muscles objected.

She licked at her lips; she'd have to find some sort of chapstick, because they were cracked and bloody, too painful to ignore once the bigger hurts subsided. She'd been unable to find any painkillers in the apartment, and she'd been too proud to ask Jack for any.

She sighed again, more carefully this time.

Cadman rolled her eyes and reached up to lightly- affectionately- whack the hand Ash was groping himself with.

"You ever hear a' mixed messages, baby mine?"

"What, I'm not allowed to enjoy myself?" Ash joked.

Cadman rolled her eyes again. "Fuckin' cocktease."

It was said without heat, and she smiled up at him to remove any sting.

She grabbed his hand- okay, and maybe copped a feel in the process; she was hurt, not dead or a saint- and moved it to her head.

"You ain't gonna put out, then I demand a head rub. Pay up, baby mine."

"Which head are we talkin', here?" Ash had to ask, raising an eyebrow.

"The one I just put your goddamn hand on, you reprobate."

She raised an eyebrow expectantly.

"What're you waitin' for, a goddamn engraved invitation? Get to rubbin', Ash."

Ash slipped a hand further down to Cadman's waist.

"I figure, I can just pretend it's, uhhh... mine."

Cadman grabbed Ash's hand and halted its downward progress.

"I ain't a saint, Ash, so quit temptin' me. You don't want this, and I ain't about to let you do it just 'cos... well, for whatever reason you got cooked up in your damn fool head."

She sighed. "Just... just a head massage, okay?" Hint of the sad puppy eyes. "'Till I find some Advil, my head's gonna keep achin' somethin' fierce, and if you wanna help, that's what you can do."

"Hell," Ash said. "You're repaying the favor, baby. I figure you know your way around this thing better than I do."

Smooth isn't his key mode of operation, sometimes.

Cadman closed her eyes and laughed helplessly.

"I don't fuck people who don't want it, Ash, and I get the feeling you ain't exactly 100% sure about this thing. Just... just rub my head, for Chrissakes, and cut it out before I run out a' chivalry, okay?"

"Damn it," Ash said, dipping his head. He was going to kiss Cadman, but his eyes were gonna be shut and he was going to be imagining her being, well, her.

Cadman allowed the kiss for a moment, but kept her lips closed, even when Ash attempted to deepen the kiss. After a moment, she gently pushed Ash's head away, and sighed deeply.

"Ash, baby, as much as I want to kiss you- and I do, believe me- I ain't about to be your personal cross t'bear, yeah? You wanted me in this body too, it'd be different, but martyrdom never turned me on. I ain't that Catholic, Ash."

"Okay, now you're the one mixing signals, baby," Ash said.

Another sigh, this one less wistful and more impatient.

"I'll simple it up baby. I want you, Ash; this body'r your real one, don't much matter. But I ain't gonna touch you like I want to 'till we're back like we're s'poseta be, because I don't want to have sex if it's gonna be a goddamn chore for you, got me?"

She exhaled loudly, frustrated. "I ain't about to take advantage a' you, Ash, and fuckin' you when you don't want it is takin' advantage."

"Hell, I got no problem with you touchin' me..." Ash said, honestly.

Cadman grinned, surprised into laughter. "Least you're honest, baby mine."

She shook her head. "All the same, I'm a selfish bitch, Ash, and I ain't touchin' you when you don't wanna touch me back. Ain't that I mind givin' without receivin' on occasion, but..." She shrugged, rolled her eyes. "Just don't sit right."

"Yeah, I get it," Ash said. "Now sit up a bit so I can try that damn head rub thing, okay?"

Cadman grabbed Ash's hand and kissed it gently, then used it to help pull herself up a bit, fidgeting until her larger frame felt comfortable against Ash's smaller one.

"Rub away, baby." A beat. "Let me know if I start squishin' you, and I'll move, yeah?

"Hell, just cause I'm a woman today don't mean I'm suddenly a wuss," Ash said.

Cadman laughed. "Didn't say that, baby mine. I just happen to be a site bigger'n you right now, an' as someone who's usually a small woman, I know it don't take too much weight to make this position uncomfortable."

"Yeah, yeah," Ash said, starting to rub Cadman's head.

"You owe me for this, by the way."

Cadman sighed happily and pushed into Ash's hand, eyes sinking shut in pleasure. She waved her hand in acknowledgment.

"You keep doin' that, I'll do anythin' you want, darlin'."

"Anythin', huh?" Ash said. "That's a damn good deal." He didn't do any of the extra bits he would normally do. No hair sniffing or anything extra. It was still a little too weird for poor Ashley Williams.

Cadman chuckled softly. "Feels good enough t' warrant 'anythin'', baby mine."

She sighed, her body relaxing even further as Ash rubbed. "Mmmm, that's good. Keep goin'." Her voice deeper, more slurred now, accent thickening with each scratch of Ash's nails. "Goddamn me, swee'pea, bu' tha's good."

Cadman rolled her eyes. "Close your yap an' jus' keep scratchin', baby mine."

She made a rumbling noise deep in her chest in pleasure when Ash complied.
