Lux was decorated and ready to go. It was just waiting a certain birthday girl and her friends.

Yes, it was the cuff links. Ianto liked them.

"Drinking, dancing and talking, mainly. But you're correct with your assumption on the karaoke, and I say we escape if it comes to that."

Jack laughed, one of his genuine laughs and winked over at Ianto.

"Agreed," he said and nodded towards a window. "I'll meet you at that window by the bar, I imagine we can smash through it if the entryways are blocked."

Jack's laugh made Ianto smile in return.

"The window it is, then. Though if you want to dance, later?" he asked, almost shyly.

Seriously there was something adorable about Ianto when the younger man was asking for a dance or cutting in on one and Jack smiled warmly at his lover.

"I think I'd like that, yes." He answered with sincere affection.

Ianto smiled back at Jack, obviously pleased that the other man had agreed.

He nodded towards Tosh, who was talking with some friends. "She looks like she's having a good time."

"She is," Jack agreed and he gave Ianto a gentle bump with his hip. "You did a good job, Ianto Jones."

Because he really had, in putting this together and it showed in the way people were smiling and having a good time. Not to mention Tosh's beaming!

Ianto grinned and swayed with Jack's bump.

"I didn't do that much, you know."

"Uh huh," Jack said, knowing better. "Go, be a gracious host."

He grinned at the other man, shooing him in the direction of people he knew were mutual friends of both Tosh and Ianto's.

"I should socialise, shouldn't I?" Ianto said, and obediently went as Jack shooed him away.

Gwen slipped in beside him, leaning up to kiss his cheek before grinning over at both men. "She's having a ball, 'anto. You've done a fantastic job."

With a smile, Ianto offered his arm to Gwen. "I keep telling you people, I didn't do all that much."

"Oh, shut up and come on. There's pizza and beer to be had, among other things." She took the offered arm with a smile.

"No singing." he said firmly so both Jack and Gwen could hear, as Gwen pulled him away.

Jack grinned at the kiss and laughed, nodding to Ianto and then Gwen.

"You tell him, Gwen. He won't believe me."

"He's just too modest. Really. Not a thing like you."

Full of good spirits, she patted Jack's cheek.

"I'm going to go steal him now, if tha's alright. I have an evil plan you see. It involves singing."

"Well, you know how it is when you're perfect in every way," Jack said in that way that clearly meant he was poking fun at himself.

"By all means, steal away for the singing!"

A little while later - although not too much later, because he wanted to pay attention to Jack, Ianto came up to the other man.

"Hey."

Despite his gregarious nature, it actually wasn't that uncommon for Jack to hang back in large social gatherings, watching the people around him. He was doing so now, a bottle of water in his hand as he leaned against the wall and watched Tosh flit from friend to friend.

It was nice to see.

He turned as Ianto came up and spoke to him, smiling warmly at the younger man and nodding out at the crowd.

"You should really be proud of what you did here, Ianto. It's all going beautifully."

And for Ianto, it had been an unusually social event, as he was usually the kind of person to sit back at a table for the whole night.

"I'm glad it went so well," he smiled, putting his hands into his pockets, "it sort of all came together by itself, really. I didn't have to do much."
