Lux was decorated and ready to go. It was just waiting a certain birthday girl and her friends.

"I'm all right," he said, standing next to Jack. "How've you been?"

Sliding his hands into his pockets, Jack looked out over the growing crowd with an expression of pride, for both Tosh and Ianto, then turned his attention directly to Luke.

"I've been good," he said. "You've been awfully quiet recently though, actually catching up on some rest?"

He'd been keeping track of the events with Blitza and this vigilante but didn't want to pop open that can of worms unless Luke did.

Luke had on his usual attire, v-neck black shirt and all, with his worn yellow leather jacket thrown on over everything, instead of the Jedi gear. He gave Jack a quiet half-smile.

"When I can. Things have been going all right, though Lucien went home. Ianto and I will have our hands full managing the library for a bit, but that whole thing is actually relaxing..."

Compared to the usual sort of thing.

Jack was 'dressed up' so to speak in a waist coat on over his blue dress shirt, with watch chain in place. He'd bowed to the summer heat and didn't have an undershirt on, as he usually tended to do, leaving the dress shirt open necked.

"Best bet is to just keep out of Ianto's way. He thrives on archiving and all the better with old books."

"I imagine that someday I'm going to see him in there with a flame thrower, the way all the books and shelves keep moving around on their own."

"Oh, he'd never." Jack insisted with a knowing grin. "I'll lay you odds that he'll come up with a way for the books and shelves to keep moving but they'll be moving to his orders."

"If anyone can do it, it'll be Ianto," he agreed. "You should come by sometime."

"I've been banned," Jack said mournfully. "Ianto's afraid I'll try to get him to have sex in the stacks."

To his credit, Luke did not pull a scandalized face, though his eyebrows did go up. Maybe he was getting desensitized to Jack.

The horror.

"Well as long as no children are present."

That was indeed a scary thought! Jack would simply have to try harder.

"Ooo, can I tell him we have your blessing?"

"Yooouu will tell him no such thing. And you will also not tell him that I think he might need a break here and there, though I fully expect you to take advantage of that."

"Ooooh but I might!"

Jack smiled, eyes finding Ianto for a moment before he grinned at Luke.

"I'm already stealing him away this weekend. Careful or you'll never get him back for work."

"He deserves a weekend off," he said, chuckling at Jack's deviousness. "And I bet he'll come back. I don't think he could function knowing I was letting ornery books pick their own non-alphabetical ordering."

Laughing softly, Jack nodded in agreement.

"No doubt he'll start to twitch after about 48 hours away, then he'll want to get back to whipping them into order and probably fussing you for letting them have their own way."

"Some of them you have to keep out of order," he said, quietly amused. "Some-- er-- not too familiar with Earth history, but the Spartan history books need their own shelf. Away from anybody else from Greece."
