Log; In Progress
When; Saturday Evening [September 20th]
Rating; PG-13 [potentially R for Emille's mouth]
Characters; Emille
bass_on_fire , Kara
punchlikeagirl , Karolina
tofuinthesky , and any others who were invited.
Summary; Emille is in need of some new clothes and a social outing.
Log; Emille didn't have much clothing to her name. Her suit, a black pinstripe outfit that was tailored perfectly to her slender form, a white dress shirt that hung long on her, a pair of dress boots with a one inch heel, and a "casual" outfit consisting of a tank top, ripped jeans, and an old pair of sneakers on its last legs. Today, she opted for the white dress shirt over the tank top, collar crooked, top two buttons undone, and her ripped, form-fitting jeans, faded fashionably and by wear. Her old sneakers still fit like a dream, broken in ever so perfectly, the kind of fit only achieved after years of working them in.
With a cigarette pack tucked into her front left pants pocket and some money in her front right, she headed out the door of her apartment, locking up of course, tucking a cigarette to her lips. She'd walk the whole way, knowing in general where the store was. "Akindo." From what she read about it, it was exactly where she needed to go, and a good place to take a few other shopping friends with her.
Before entering, she'd snuff out the cigarette on the back of her hand, the burn mark on her skin healing over almost as quickly as it was damaged. It was a pain she'd gotten so used to it didn't even phase her. She tosses the cigarette butt into a nearby trashcan, brushes herself off a bit, and enters, thumbs hooked into her back pockets, eyes casually checking the place out.
"... Not bad," she muttered to herself. Just had to see if anyone else had arrived yet.

She had opted for the low rise jeans, some fashionable athletic shoes, and a cute white camisole for today. Casual and comfortable, just the sort of thing for hanging out with friends. Even if she had never met Emille yet, she still sounded pretty cool. Both literally and figuratively.
She arrived at the general area and glanced around, looking for anyone that resembled her new friend. Spotting someone that might pass for her, she smiled and headed over.
"I really, really hope that you're Emille," she said, smiling bright at the girl and sticking her hand out. "I'm Kara."
no subject
"That's me. Nobody else's around yet, but, uh... Don't see why we couldn't get a head start, y'know? Hope this place is okay, never really been."
no subject
"Anything in particular you're after?" she asked.
no subject
"Few things. New pair o' shoes, couple o' new outfits. Never had the chance to get a wardrobe since I came here, so it's pretty much anything that looks interestin', y'know? But, uh... What. You wan'ed t'look at swimsuits, right? Could start there."
Besides... Always a good time to consider swimwear. Her hands slip into her back pockets as she begins wandering, nodding for Kara to follow.
"So what kinda world you from?... Figure I might as well ask. Great ice breaker in this City."
no subject
"It's Earth, or at least a version of it," she started to explain. Being that her world has multiple universes the concept of explaining your world wasn't too weird to her. "We have people with powers and stuff and are maybe like... just a bit more advanced than the "normal" City technology."
no subject
It was weird, discussing things this way with someone; So much so, she didn't even pay any mind to Kara hooking her arm around Emille's. Not that she would necessarily mind, but the thought just passed her over without looking back.
"Like... Reports o' demons an' angels walkin' the globe... That sorta thing. Which, as it turns out, ain't especially unique t'my world."
Her attention catches to a section of the store... She makes a mental note of it, figuring it better to go after it once they get their first task completed.

And one of those stores really needed to be a clothing store like the one she stood outside of. She still wore the same clothes she came in with--the purple asymmetrical shirt, jeans and sandals. Washing them out every night was starting to wear thin on Karolina. The most she could do for changing up her look was fix her hair, which she did this morning, pulling it back into a French braid.
But at least she had the allowance from the City deities, whoever and whatever they were. She could at least find a couple new outfits plus a swimsuit if she stuck to the clearance racks. Living life on the streets had made Karolina quite the penny pincher lately.
Noticing the two girls arm in arm, it occured to Karolina that she absolutely had no idea what the others looked like and all she could do was walk around the store and chance asking who was who.
"Uh... Kara? Emille?"
no subject
"Yo. Lemme guess... Uhm. Karolina?"
It was a shot in the dark, but it'd be a 50/50 chance either way. Another member to add to the entourage. Hopefully the full group'll amass together by some point, though Emille was content either way.

Good job, Karolina. She didn't embarrass herself by calling the wrong person by the wrong name. It was bad enough she was pretty much meeting somebody off the Internet; it didn't need to be made worse by a stupid move.
Closing the space between them, Karolina stuck out her right hand for a handshake, and taking note of the odd fact that now they were all blondes. "Pleased to meet you, Emille? Or Kara?"
no subject
"I'm glad you were able to come though!" she exclaimed, resisting the urge to hug Kara.
no subject
"Yeah, shoppin' runs like these're definitely more fun en masse."
She scratches the back of her neck as she takes a peek around.
"We're makin' our first stop in swimwear. You wan'ed to grab somethin' from there, right?"
This event wasn't exactly common for Emille, but she wasn't going to turn down any kind of opportunity to watch girls in skimpy swimwear. She begins the slow push toward the area, a subtle smirk on her face. She was actually pretty happy right now, first time in a good while. Wasn't thinking about being alone in this City.
no subject
"If I'm going to make it to the beach before it turns cold, I need to grab a new one. Kinda left my other ones back at home."
no subject
"Oooh, some of these are great," she said, glancing through the different style. "I want like... three of them. Ugh, I'm such a cliche. This one (http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl0/0/3987/12_2008/V272320.jpg) is really cute though."
no subject
"Yeah, we'll find ya somethin' good, no problem," she says, as she eyes a black-and-white striped two-piece that grabs at her. She tilts her head, looking it over, running a finger over the fabric. As Kara pipes up, she looks over to where the supergirl is, and takes a look at the swimsuit.
"Well, damn. I could see ya workin' with that number."
no subject
Sliding her fingers across the cool metal racks, Karolina pulled a sunshine yellow tankini with dotted trim that was almost hidden in back. It wasn't as skimpy as Kara's choice was, but it showed just the right amount of skin that Karolina was as comfortable with as she would ever be.
"I like this one!" she announced, holding the plastic hanger in the air.
no subject
"That looks great," Kara said with a nod. "I'm going to go try mine on!"
With that, she darted into the changing room to do just that.
[ooc; Guuuh, forgive the short, crappy post. Wanted to get something up before work.]
no subject
"Pretty damn cute." The comment was curtailed by a smirk as she looks back over to her own selections. A basic black string bikini, along with a dark brown one-piece, a green design trailing up the right side, with a low cut on the back, down to below the shoulder blades.
"Always been bad at pickin' out stuff like this for m'self. C'n never settle on somethin'."
She decides to take the two she'd selected, then turns toward Karolina, displaying them both. "Whaddaya think?"
no subject
Just the visual of another girl in a skimpy swimsuit made Karolina's cheeks warm. It wasn't that she was attracted to Emille even if she was an nice looking girl, tall and slim. It was just that Karolina was just starting to get used to the fact that there were other pretty girls in the world than just her old friend Nico.
"The brown one," Karolina answered as she quickly turned her back on the other girl. It wouldn't do for her red face to be noticed.
no subject
"Tada!" she announced, stepping out in the swimsuit and turning around so they could view it from all angles. "What do you think?"
no subject
"Thanks. Was kinda thinkin' the same."
She hangs up the string bikini and, as she heads toward the changing room, she spots Kara stepping out. Her eyes widen ever so slightly, blowing out a low whistle.
"Damn. Never let it be said you have no place on a beach."
With a chuckle, Emille brushes past Kara, slipping into her own changing room. It's been a good, long while since she'd actually climbed into a swimsuit, thanks to the preference of diving into pools in just her underwear.
no subject
"Nice," Karolina breathed. And she meant it. Emille was right-- Kara belonged on the beach. She was the type of girl that was meant for those beach photoshoots, alien or not. "Don't you dare put that back on the rack."
no subject
"Thanks, I really like it. I'm definitely going with this one," she replied. This time she did use her super speed to change back into her regular clothes, just because she didn't want to miss out on seeing Emille or Karolina changed. So one minute she was there in the swinsuit and the next she was fully dressed.
"Come on now, your guys' turn now."
no subject
"So not used to this. D'I look alright?"
Emille had a pretty decent figure, considering her tomboyish nature and face. Though she certainly couldn't compete with someone like Kara, Emille didn't look too shabby. Of course, this was far more revealing than how she usually presented herself, but... Hey. They were doin' it. Might as well follow suit.
no subject
"You look absolutely fine!" Karolina approved as she glanced over at Emille modeling for them. The suit really did look good on Emille, just like she envisioned. "Are you comfortable in it?"
no subject
"You do not look alright," she added. "You look a lot better than just alright. If it's comfy you should totally get it."
