Log: Ongoing--Treasure Hunt Location #1

When; Friday, October 24
Rating; G? Probably PG at most.
Characters; Open to participation from Angelica ([livejournal.com profile] prototipo), Ikuto ([livejournal.com profile] cat_on_strings, Doumeki ([livejournal.com profile] monsterepellant), and Youji ([livejournal.com profile] expandtozero) [and their respective treasure-hunting parties] at this time.
Summary; Here thar be treasure! Or, at least, the first stop on the treasure hunt. Show up, look for clues, hunt around, and here we go!
Log;

Upon reaching the first location and searching around a little bit, the intrepid followers of Peg-Fisted Jack’s badass pirate treasure map challenge will happen across…a chest!

And within that chest, they will find an assortment of FABULOUS TREASURE!

Also, there are clues scattered around the area--five in all, and all identical. Two are located within the chest itself, and the other three can be found with a little creative searching!

It's a lovely night for a treasure hunt, isn't it?

[OOC Notes: Pretty much free rein, players! Look around, chat with other players, claim some treasure, and discover your next clues (which you should've already received by E-mail)! The post for the second location will be up tomorrow~

And as always, questions, comments, concerns, and SOLUTIONS TO THE SECOND CLUE go to:

[It doesn't take Ikuto long to find the treasure chest in the room, and he couldn't help but sigh when he saw it.]

Looks like you were right, Amu.
guardianjoker: (Well...)

[personal profile] guardianjoker 2008-10-25 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it does.

See, I told you, you were thinking too much into it.

[identity profile] cat-on-strings.livejournal.com 2008-10-25 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
You can open the chest, then, if you want.
guardianjoker: (Content)

[personal profile] guardianjoker 2008-10-25 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
Really, I can? Okay then.

[identity profile] cat-on-strings.livejournal.com 2008-10-25 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[Peers over her shoulder, curious to see what was inside.}
guardianjoker: (Default)

[personal profile] guardianjoker 2008-10-25 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[She opens the chest, and looks at the treasure that's found inside]

[identity profile] cat-on-strings.livejournal.com 2008-10-25 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
...So it was a real treasure map then. [Reaches over her shoulder and pulls out a scrap of paper stuck amongst the jewels and looks at what's written on it.] Hmm. Another clue.
guardianjoker: (Side glace)

[personal profile] guardianjoker 2008-10-25 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
It looks like it was.

[She turned around to look at Ikuto, out of curiosity as he pulled out a paper stuck amongst the treasure]

Another clue? What does it say?

Finding the treasure map and it's clue had been a welcome break in the boredom that had seemed to have infected Youji. Sure the city could funny and the people were dumb and easy to trick but there were no real challenges. And they were still stuck sleeping on the floor in a double size futon. (Mostly because Soubi happened to suck and refused to buy them a bed. And their piratical capture of Soubi's bedroom hadn't lasted as long as they would have liked)

The clue was pretty easy once the two put their heads together. After some deliberation, and remembering that there was indeed a lighthouse in the city, they made their way there.

"I wonder what the treasure will be." Youji asked, one hand entwined with Natsuo's as it always was. "Maybe we could finally buy a bed!"

[identity profile] expandtozero.livejournal.com 2008-10-25 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
"I dunno." he tapped his chin as they approached the door of the lighthouse. His breath was misting in the air before him, a sign of the cold weather that they couldn't feel. It wasn't so cold that they could be in danger so Youji hadn't bothered with a coat. Plus Kio always seemed to freak out over stuff like that.

"We could buy a new game system." Saving the money was the last thing on his mind. Thoughts of saving for the future were the realm of adults. He stopped at the door and tested it. Unlocked. And it sounded like others were already there.

[Doumeki's standing outside the lighthouse, currently, with Rukia, a little chilly, but feeling accomplished.]

...we should probably go inside.

[identity profile] wingstock.livejournal.com 2008-10-25 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
[Nodding at him, Rukia pursed her lips thoughtfully before stepping a bit ahead and into said lighthouse.]

I wonder what we're looking for exactly...

[identity profile] monsterepellant.livejournal.com 2008-10-25 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
[follows behind her, pulling out his tablet and opening it up, using it as a pseudo-flashlight. It wasn't very strong, but it was something]

A chest, I'm guessing.

[identity profile] wingstock.livejournal.com 2008-10-25 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
That is typical of 'treasure hunts' I gather...?

[ And she pulls out her phone, yes she has it with her ..... also not the best source of light but hey, every little bit helps...]

Is that...

[ And she goes forward towards a larger lump of a shadow on the far side of the entry room. ]

[identity profile] monsterepellant.livejournal.com 2008-10-25 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. Usually the treasure is in a chest....[his words trail off a bit as he follows her to the far side of the entry room, to see what she's spotted]

[identity profile] wingstock.livejournal.com 2008-10-25 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
[ the first thing she does is tap the chest with the toe of her shoe, lightly...then kneel down to stare at it and then she glances back up at Doumeki]

[identity profile] monsterepellant.livejournal.com 2008-10-25 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
[squats down next to her as she glances back up at him. He stares at it for a good long moment, before reaching out a hand and popping open the chest]

[She looks around, she's never been this far out of the city. It looks so very different. Her hand holds the violin case tighter and she looks up at the building.]

Do you there's anything?

[identity profile] concept-killer.livejournal.com 2008-10-25 05:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Well...

[looking up, Shiki is rather surprised at the girl's cunning]

You were right about a lighthouse, at least.

[identity profile] concept-killer.livejournal.com 2008-10-25 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
So lets lucky guess our way to a treasure chest that should be around here.

[identity profile] concept-killer.livejournal.com 2008-10-25 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
You should lead the way. You are the one who got the map. If I walk somewhere too close, I might set off a trap.
