Summary; For Armistice Day, two enemies are cursed into sharing a lovely lunch in Xanadu.
Log;

For the life of him, Zolf Kimblee couldn't recall why he and the Lieutenant were on such foul terms. She was a good solider, talented sharpshooter, and had risen the City ranks rather spectacularly. Shouldn't he be proud of his countryman? Had he ever congratulated her? Not sincerely, how horribly rude of him ...

From his seat outside the cafe, the alchemist reached a tattooed hand down absently to scratch the ears of Dante's dog. The animal responded with a lazy thump of his tail against the sidewalk. Kimblee smiled. Bombastus really was a very obedient and amiable creature. Why hadn't he ever taken the animal out for a walk before?

The alchemist pursed his lips slightly in thought, eyes looking past sandwiches wrapped for travel and covered coffee steaming through those tiny plastic slits, before simply shrugging. There was no use dwelling on the past ...

She almost felt bad for saying that she couldn't just leave work- it really had been months and months since they'd seen each other, for one reason or another, and he was another war survivor, just like her. But duty was duty, and she couldn't afford to make exceptions just because she felt like it.

Her lunch break would have to do. And if it ran over a little, she was sure that no one would begrudge her that.

It's been a while since I've been out to lunch with a friend. The thought was enough to bring a slight smile to her lips as she ordered the paperwork on her desk, locked the door to her office and descended to the small lawn in the back where she left Hayate during the day. There was no sense leaving him there, when he could have a bit of a walk with her.

So it was with the puppy on his lead that she showed up at the cafe, purse looped over her other shoulder, only a minute or two later than she should have. It didn't take long for her to spot the other alchemist, sandwiches and coffee already there on the table. Well, that'd save some time, at least, she thought, before Hayate pulled on his lead abruptly and the blonde realized there was a large black dog at his feet.

Reeling in Hayate onehandedly, Hawkeye offered a wave with the other and a smile. "There you are, Kimblee. I didn't know you had a dog."

"That's quite the name." She knelt to offer a hand for the other dog to sniff, carefully keeping Hayate away- as much as Hayate didn't tend to have problems with other dogs, it never did to be a little careful with first introductions.

She stood once more, brushing dust off her knees. "That's perfectly alright- I've been wanting to get outside all day, the park sounds lovely."

Glancing at the two coffees and sandwiches, Hawkeye twisted Hayate's lead once more around her left hand. "Shall I give you a hand with that?"

"Of course." The blonde moved to take the larger dog's lead, giving him a momentarily stern glare to let him know not to mess with Hayate - although really, the puppy could handle himself, and was behaving himself quite nicely at the moment, sitting at her feet.

She quirked an eyebrow at the alchemist. "Surely you don't have trouble with him? I should hope he's been trained enough not to jump on you."

But with two dogs on her hands and the purse slung over her shoulder, the smile turned a little wry. "I think I got the worse end of this deal."
