Even if the man was unconscious.
His phone rang and he answered it immediately, hoping it might be Ianto with news that he'd found whatever had bit Jack.
"Brooks here."

"Martha Jone's clinic," he said into the phone. "You'd better hurry. Jack went unconscious twenty minutes ago. I think he was delirious before then. He...he kept asking for the doctor."

And it didn't surprise Ianto that Jack had been asking for The Doctor in his state.
"Right," he said, business-like as he stayed calm, "did you call him? He might be able to help as well, actually."

stubbornness, immortal immune systemstubbornness pushed him back up towards consciousness.Awareness came back as sharp, pains and the struggle to breath, neither of which were a great deal of fun and Jack had to chuff inwardly as he cursed just how annoying poison could be. Pain hazed eyes blinked opened, staring at the ceiling without comprehension for a long moment.
"Where..." he whispered weakly, barely aware that he'd spoken outloud.

"Shhh, it's okay," he soothed. "You're at the clinic. Ianto's on his way, he found the snake."
Kyle decided he'd better not mention about Gwen getting poisoned too.

Clinic ... okay, good that explained why the ceiling didn't look familiar.
Jack nodded slightly, indicating he'd heard what Kyle had said about Ianto. If his own thoughts were so muddled with pain and confusion, he probably would have caught the fact that Kyle hadn't included Gwen in that statement.

And Kyle didn't know what kind of help the Doctor would be, but from the stories he'd heard, he didn't doubt that the man could do something about all this. Or at the very least, he'd be a comfort for Jack.

all-purpose martha-thread, guys, forgive the slowness :|
With a vaguely annoyed exhale, she paused outside of the room they'd all but tossed Jack into, unceremoniously so. While Martha couldn't really account for his immortality factor, she could assess what was a given, and she had, already having set about procuring an antidote--or contacting someone who could.
"What timing," she muttered, leaning against the wall, folding her arms across her chest. Just a moment to breathe, she thought a bit sourly. She was fond of these people, but really, what were they all up to? And then there was the matter of Tosh.
Perhaps she should lay out a chart that told them 'this is a bad idea' and 'this, this is less bad but still probably going to get you in a hell of a lot of trouble as well' and so on down the line. Perhaps. But then, they probably wouldn't pay it any mind, and at that she smiled in spite of it all. That would be very them.
Perfectly fine my dear~
"Martha!" he called out, not even pausing to get his breath back as he held the bag out in front of him for her to take.
"We got it. It doesn't seem to be affecting Gwen all that badly, we think she just needs a standard antitoxin kit."
I'm mostly back myself!
"It's not too bad at all."

"I see," Martha replied as if to say: not dead doesn't mean good. Torchwood standards, she sighed inwardly. These people constantly put themselves in danger and don't think about it as danger unless they're dying, she frowned, which wasn't entirely fair of her, having been in similar working situations, but the good doctor was inclined to being a bit irritated, as the irritation stemmed from genuine concern. Still, she tried to keep it in check.
"Take this room," she nodded at Gwen and then to the room right next to Jack's. "Ianto, can you take care of this?" she asked, offering the kit to him with one hand, taking the snake with the other. "I'd like to get this under investigation right away."

Gwen visits too!
"... how is he?"
She didn't want to disturb them even though she was very worried about Jack. If she wasn't, she wouldn't be tempting Martha's wrath by getting up and about too soon.
Gwen visits too!
"He's still alive. And resting."
Gwen visits too!
"I couldn't sleep 'till I checked on him."
Gwen visits too!
Gwen was an adult and he couldn't order her back to bed like he might have done with Dawn, but he still thought that Jack would take it badly later if Kyle'd let one of his team get sicker due to lack of rest.

Enter: <i>The Doctor.
"Alright, where is he?" the Doctor asked, looking around. "And what happened. Can't stay out of trouble for long, can he? Welll, good thing I'm here. Doctor Jones and I will have him just fine in no time. Ohh, that kind of rhyme's, doesn't it? Just fine in no time."
Enter: The Doctor.
Getting up from where he was sitting by Jack's bed, Ianto opened the door and poked his head out.
"Doctor!"
Re: Enter: The Doctor.
"What's Jack gotten himself up to now?" he asked, whipping out his glasses and getting ready to do some sort of diagnosis. Whatever it was, if it made Jack sick it would be interesting.

Post antidote action
Taking a deep breath -aaahhh air- he opened his eyes and almost immediately began to look for Kyle and hopefully Ianto. He'd been aware that Kyle had stayed beside him almost through the entire ordeal and knew that Ianto had been on point with Gwen in finding the snake. His team, doing what they did best, tracking down the strange and useful!
"'Kyle? Ianto?" Oi, going to need some water on that throat!
Post antidote action
Ianto was of course still sitting next to the bed, still wearing the scrubs and his hair curling, much to his irritation.
But of course that was forgotten when Jack's eyes opened and he spoke.
"Hey," Ianto said, standing up to pour some water in a glass and get a straw.
Post antidote action
Of course, he couldn't yet, because they weren't entirely through the woods and besides, Jack was asking for him.
His words had seemed to have flown out of his head though, so instead of making some soothing reply he crouched awkwardly and silently by Jack's bedside and took his hand.
