"Hey there you two," he whispered, voice still rough.
The straw pressed to his mouth and a couple sips of water helped and the next time he spoke, his voice was already stronger.
"Ianto, you're hair is curling."
That's our Jack, nothing ever gets by him. Kyle, meanwhile was getting tugged gently to come sit up on the bed as that crouch did not look comfortable.

It wasn't often that Ianto loomed.
"I noticed," he said with a smile, too pleased to reprimand Jack any right now.
He threw a wink at Kyle, to see if he could remind him of the Welsh.

"Ch...Chroesawa bacia, Jack."

Catching the wink, he looked over at Kyle, eyebrows arching upwards as the young barrister spoke in Welsh, welcoming him back. His expression softened, still too weak to be anything really but himself at the moment and he squeezed Kyle's hand, speaking softly back to him.
"Ddiolch 'ch , 'n arddun bachgen," Jack said, eyes on Kyle and then he glanced to Ianto. "Ill dau chennych."

He felt that he should probably translate for Kyle. "He said 'thank you, beautiful lads, both of you." He gave up on looming and perched on the opposite side to where Kyle was sitting.
Everything was going to be okay, Ianto thought as he smiled.

"Anyway, it was the rest of them who actually did something. Ianto and Gwen and Martha and the Doctor."
Post antidote action
"Oi," Jack said, tiredly but firmly because he wasn't going to let Kyle get away with that. "I know you were here with me, the entire time. I ... heard your voice, heard you sing, felt your hand on mine."
He had to pause and catch his breath a little and squeezed Kyle's hand.
"That's what being a team, a pack, a family is, being there for each other."

"Croeso," he supplied helpfully, and after Jack's protest, he gave one of his own. "Kyle, no. You had the most important job of all, all right? Without Gwen and I, the Doctor would have still figured it out, and even if the Doctor hadn't helped, the antidote would have been made in the end. Martha isn't the only one who can make an antidote, either."

He wasn't going to argue while Jack was still recovering. He did want to apologize for making Jack go through long painful hours of survival, but he would do that later.

Hands on them both, obeying Kyle's request that he stop talking, Jack never the less arched an eyebrow at Ianto. Silent request for a status report.
Stubborn Captain is stubborn!
Post antidote action
"Everything and everyone except you, is and are fine."
And that's all Jack was getting, for now.
Post antidote action
"You see?" he said. "We're all safe. Now will you rest?"
Post antidote action
Jack flicked a glance between the pair, contemplating mutiny but luckily concern for Kyle took over. Shifting on his pillow, the hand on Ianto's thigh seeking out the young Welshman's fingers to thread through, Jack shifted his arm outwards, a silent invitation to the lawyer to stretch out beside him and put his head on the Captain's shoulder.
Post antidote action
Another reason he was pleased that Kyle was there, because he got the feeling it would've if he wasn't.
As requested, though, he threaded his fingers through Jack's, and tipped his head indicating that Kyle should go ahead.

And if he let Jack pull him down beside him, that would be it. Then instead of resting and trying to take care of himself, Jack would be agitated and trying to take care of Kyle and that just couldn't happen.
So Kyle patted Jack on the shoulder instead and pulled away. "Go to sleep," he ordered, calmly.

They knew in every fiber of their being when something was wrong with their team -well okay Jack occasionally went a little wonky when the Doctor was around but...- and he frowned worriedly and gave another stubborn little tug to the hand he had wrapped around Kyle's.
Post antidote action
He knew Kyle had been holding on for a long time, after all.
Post antidote action
"If you don't go to sleep this instant I'm going to take your coat and burn it," Kyle threatened, monotone, as he laid down beside the Captain. "And then you'll be sorry."
Once Jack was sleeping he could make a quiet escape and find a nice, private shower to collapse in. Just a little longer.

Curling his arm around Kyle, despite the prickly way the younger man was talking to him, Jack leaned his cheek against Kyle's head and gave a soft sigh.
"No you won't," he whispered softly. "You're pissed as hell at me for getting hurt and scaring you but you would never harm an innocent, sexy coat."
Jack's eyes met Ianto's softly as he pressed a soothing kiss to the side of Kyle's temple.
Post antidote action
He did meet Jack's gaze though, but still kept quiet. This was something Kyle deserved for himself.
Post antidote action
He breathed in, shakily, and out again.
"You jerk."
Post antidote action
"I know," he said softly. "I'm sorry."
Post antidote action
He did squeeze Jack's fingers though, to show that he was pleased.
Post antidote action
And then he buried his face in Jack's shoulder with a low, wounded cry.
"Sorry," he choked out before the words got lost.
Post antidote action
"It's all right," and his tone indicated he wasn't giving the patronizing platitude that 'he' was all right now but that it was all right for Kyle to let go.
Jack and Ianto were both there for him, right where they wanted to be.
