James had left to get Morgana a drink. She tried to keep an eye on him through the crowd, but it seemed the entire City -- students and nonstudents alike -- had turned out for the party. She wished she had gone with him; it was going to take him forever to get the drinks and squeeze his way back to her.

Sighing a little softly, Morgana looked around for a familiar face or possible entertainment.

Rin must have gone off to do the same, if not that then to socialize with others she knew. That left Caspian on his own for a moment, Caspian X, Tenth of That Name, the Telmarine Transfer at Cutlers Grammar School. He'd arrived in something black and white (http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b117/ACXchan/screenmay08pic006.jpg), modest and still svelte in a way the brunette would not know how to explain himself. Some people called it natural. Caspian only knew that he liked the way it looked. Yes, things were that simple for him.

"Hello, Morgana," he greeted her from a distance of a few yards which he closed quickly.

[identity profile] sleepyseer.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
Morgana lit up when she heard Caspian call her name. "Caspian!" she said, smiling brightly and feeling maybe just a little giddy. She liked James -- she liked James a lot -- but that didn't mean she couldn't appreciate how gorgeous the other boy looked. You'd have to be blind not to.

She shoved the memory of Blair's hurtful words aside as quickly as they came to her mind and gave a little twirl. "What do you think? Have I held up my end of the bargain?"

[identity profile] treadingdawn.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
Caspian liked James too even though they'd known each other for only a few days. He seemed like a genuine sort of overachiever and someone who could be an excellent friend. To see that he had the fortune to escort Morgana pleased Caspian. James deserved it. As for being blind, well, one had to be blind to not see why it was such a great thing to be her date. The Telmarine knew nothing about what Blair had said to her or what any others said about Morgana's reputation at large. Caspian just never paid attention to that sort of thing, choosing to base his opinions on meeting people face to face. On that same not, it also meant he saw nothing wrong with Blair either. Mmm dilemmas, that.

"Bargain? That is not the word for it at all," he smiled while looking over her ensemble, "but you can safely assume you have lived up to your word."

[identity profile] sleepyseer.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
Morgana preened a little under his attention. What could she say? She enjoyed being admired. And she was more than willing to admire Caspian in turn.

"You have kept your word as well," she said, looking him up and down with frank admiration. He was the very definition of simple elegance. "Was some young lady lucky enough to be graced with your company, or did you come alone to tempt us all?"

[identity profile] treadingdawn.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
"Have I? I do pride myself on not appearing sloppy," Caspian laughed softly. Really it wasn't that big a deal of a deal to him, but then again the Telmarine did have standards that different from some other boys. "Oh, I am here with my friend Rin," that's right just a friend. As for being a tempting thing that tempts the tempted and temptresses alike, well... Caspian would disagree! But not aloud.

[identity profile] sleepyseer.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
"Rin is very lucky to have a friend like you," Morgana said, even as she wondered why someone like Caspian would be here with a friend and not a date. Was he simply oblivious to this Rin's feelings for him, or was something else going on?

"And you would look handsome even when sloppy," she said with a grin. "Please tell me you have some kind of flaw."

[identity profile] treadingdawn.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
Well there was that man called Manji involved but that wasn't really polite conversation for this occasion. At the very least no trouble had been stirred where Miss Asano was concerned. As for feelings... well, that's a very private matter! Flaws were far more interesting okay? Okay.

"Um..." Caspian sounded while trying to consider a proper answer to this question. Really he could think of many, but for now all that came out was "I have a weakness for churros?"

[identity profile] sleepyseer.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
Feelings are interesting because they're private! But okay, flaws are fine.

Morgana gave him a strange look. "What are churros?" she asked with a slight laugh in her voice.

[identity profile] treadingdawn.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
....... He stared at her. Really stared, but not in that rude scrutinizing manner meant to belittle others. Hardly. Caspian just wasn't programmed that way. After that moment of dumbfounded behavior his brown eyes lit up at having to explain the sweets to Morgana.

"They are these treats, strips of dough fried and covered in like a cinnamon sugar. They're very good," he smiled brightly.

[identity profile] sleepyseer.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
Morgana still felt slightly uncomfortable under his dumbfounded gaze -- had it really been that stupid a question? But she felt better when he began excitedly explaining them. He sounded like he was six years old. It was...adorable.

"I hardly think that counts as a flaw," she said with a grin.

[identity profile] treadingdawn.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
Oh come now, six years old? Why not seven years old? It would better match his age of seventeen. Right well anyway... Yes, churros. He really did like them. The treat seemed exclusive to the city and he only wished he could take some back home. On that note, did Morgana know he might be leaving after graduation?

"Oh but I would do almost anything for them, except bake them. I don't know the first thing about it," he laughed.

ZOMG YOU'RE NOT DROPPING CASPIAN, ARE YOU? ;_____________;

[identity profile] sleepyseer.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
...no. No, Morgana did not know that at all. And if she did, she would be very upset.

But ignorance, as they say, is bliss. "Oh really?" she asked, quirking an eyebrow. "What's the most embarrassing thing you've ever done for a churro?"

NO OMG but cursed, he thinks Miraz wants him back home after graduation

[identity profile] treadingdawn.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
He hadn't told anyone, not that he was keeping it a secret either. Those who knew only knew because it had come up in conversation. Some of them asked, and it wasn't in Caspian's nature to lie about such things. He promised his friends, as well as himself, that he would fight to stay in the city for at least another year. There was so much more he'd yet to learn and see.

"Really," he smiled. Ah but her question was a hard one. Caspian blinked once then rubbed at his chin. Think think think. "I snuck out of Cutlers and masqueraded as a Westerberg student--not that I am saying being a Westerberg student is embarrassing," said the Telmarine, trying to cover his bases before he could get in trouble with Morgana, "I was just very bad at it."

OH THANK GOD /CLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINGS

[identity profile] sleepyseer.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
Morgana laughed. "How exactly do you masquerade as a Westerberg student?" she asked. "Do they have some kind of secret language or gang symbols?"

AHAHAHAHAHA <3

[identity profile] treadingdawn.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 05:26 am (UTC)(link)
Caspian considered this for a moment or two, one short then one long. Finally he concluded there was only one way to answer this question... He cleared his throat, expression stilling in preparation for what he was about to do.

His accent changed into something they call American. Vaguely American that is.

"Secret language? I don't know anyone who does that kind of thing unless you count your bestfriend punching you."

The Telmarine grinned.

DON'T LAUGH AT ME ;___________;

[identity profile] sleepyseer.livejournal.com 2009-03-29 01:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Morgana couldn't help it -- she laughed. His accent was terrible! But utterly endearing at the same time.

"I see what you mean," she said, still giggling. "The power of churros must be strong indeed."
