Ianto behaved and didn't make a face at the coffee. It was probably very nice.

"Well, I'm glad you came in the end. And not too bad, over the horror of my students, mostly, and after telling Niko to go to the dance, decided that I would myself, after all."

"You didn't come with young, Mr. Brooks?" Jack asked, looking genuinely disappointed.

"I thought... I'd see him here?"

Yeah, that sounded a little lame, even to himself.

But that reminded Ianto. "What did I tell you about referring to me as Dr. Jones?"

Jack gave a little frown but quickly bounced back and was grinning once more.

"At least I've stopped calling you, 'Indy'"

And that? Would be the very reason Ianto didn't like being called Dr. Jones.

"That's a relief. And I will never believe that you misheard Ianto as Indy, you know."

That earned Ianto Jack's best whipped puppy expression.

How could he doubt him?

Ianto folded his arms. He knew that look.

"They don't even sound alike!"

"They do if I say them together fast enough," Jack said, brightening back up now that he'd gotten Ianto to fold his arms and give him a scolding look.

Ianto had no idea Jack had been gearing for that look.

"You say my name strangely anyway. Ee-yan-to sounds nothing like In-dee."

Rather than admit culpability, Jack grinned and chanced the subject.

"So, who have you been dancing with?"

Ianto let him get away with it. For now.

"So far? Oh... nobody. You?"

"I don't dance," Jack responded with a grin.

"Hmm, where is the young, Mr. Books. He's remiss in his duties I see."

"Neither do I, really," Ianto said, "Yet, here I am. Odd."

At Jack's mention of Kyle, Ianto looked around. "You know, I haven't seen him yet."
