Log; closedish // Dorks can party too

When; Friday, May 1st, night
Rating; T for Teens And People Who Still Act Like Them
Characters; [livejournal.com profile] politehulk, [livejournal.com profile] repeatshimself, [livejournal.com profile] girlwithabow to host, others to follow.
Summary; Ted has people over to chill. Mario Kart. Dorkiness. Not as exciting as Threnody body shots, but hay, we do our best.
Note: I'm feeling kind of off tonight so tags might be slow, but feel free to mingle amongst yourselves (ie threadjack) to your heart's content. If you want my attention put something in the subject line. Invitees include YA, [livejournal.com profile] fortalkingback, [livejournal.com profile] alittlecredit & whoever he wants to bring, [livejournal.com profile] filmbyzach & [livejournal.com profile] adamantined & whoever they want to bring, [livejournal.com profile] misterblackbird, [livejournal.com profile] peopleskills, [livejournal.com profile] gracedfall & [livejournal.com profile] isabeansprout & [livejournal.com profile] strawberried (do I really want to go there?), and uh no bad guys. BYOB, the Mario Kart is always on so assume games as you like (and of course everything is unlocked), play nice, don't break anything or Ted will go all Hulk on your ass (more like Kate will kick you out). Poke me with an ooc comment if you want in but don't know if you'd be invited or not. Backdating or assuming is fiiiine.
Log;

They had chips, popcorn, pop, water, juice, and coffee. Teddy had checked three times. He'd also changed his shirt at least four times, and his pants once (they didn't match the shirt), and then he'd had to fix his hair. He didn't know why he was so nervous about having a bunch of friends over to hang out, but really he knew it was because he'd never had people over as a kid. And he'd never gone over to other people's houses. He'd been to high school house parties, but it wasn't the same, he'd never felt comfortable in all that loud music and nearly-naked girls. So what kind of parties did people like him throw for other people like him? He had no idea. He was going by what he'd seen on tv and heard about colloquially, which he was aware wasn't entirely reliable. What if people got bored?

Not to mention he'd ended up inviting way more people than he'd originally planned. It was just that, once he'd invited one person he felt guilty about not inviting someone else or maybe forgetting someone and it just snowballed from there. Hopefully they wouldn't fun out of food. Or space. He'd just realized lately how much time he actually spent with Billy and felt bad for all the friends who had been there for him while Billy had been away.

So rather than count the food again he went into the living room and started flipping through his iPod to find something suiable to listen to. You couldn't go wrong with Arcade Fire, right?

Fai stood partly behind Billy as the two talked, his comfortable level slowly slipping away. It wasn't that he was fearful of Teddy - whom he had never met before now - it was just that he was slightly nervous. Meeting new people, especially in person, did that to him. He was getting better about it, especially considering how he once was when he first arrived here.

Billy considers this option. "I don't mind the way you dress," he finally says, dismissing the need entirely. It takes him another minute to remember Fai, who was still hiding behind his legs. "Oh, and Teddy, this is Fai, have you met before?"

He steps aside relatively smoothly.

He cast a worried look to Billy when he moved away, but in the same motion turned back to Teddy and smiled weakly. He really was tall.

"It's nice to meet you too." Despite his nervousness, he could see just by listening to them earlier that they really did care about each other. It was something in they way they spoke to each other - like Clow and Miss Yuuko.

Hopefully not exactly like, since it seemed pretty apparent that Clow and Yuuko couldn't deal with each other for long periods of time. Billy watches this for a second before he goes and grabs another twinkie.

"We were playing Mario Kart."

His smile widened a little at that. "No, it was fun. I've never played those sorts of games before. It's only natural I'd be really bad at it." He looked up again when Billy moved to grab another twinkie. He still didn't understand why people ate those.

He looked back at Teddy. Without warning, he suddenly realized he had no idea what this party was for, or even for who. His cheeks flushed at the realization.

It's sort of a mix of all of those, really. Billy watches their exchange and manages not to smile, but only out of practice of keeping his face sort of serious. "I was not too hard on him. He's not you."

Oh, had Teddy noticed? "A-Ah, nothing...I just... "He chewed on his lip. Would it be rude to ask?

Oh well. "Well, I wanted to ask who this party was for..." He stopped, then added. "...That is why people have parties, right? For other people." Like birthday parties.

The challenge has been issued and Billy is about to reply when he hears the question, and then the answer. "It's just for fun," Billy says, without a hint of awkwardness in his tone. "Because we wanted to."

For fun. He thought it over and nodded. That must be nice, he thought, to have parties for whenever you felt like having them. He certainly enjoyed going to them- it was interesting to watch all of the people there.

"Do you two have parties a lot?"
