OPEN LOG
When; Friday, June 19th
Rating; Variable
Characters; OPEN
Summary; All you swinging hepcats, come and dance the blues away!
Log;
The Blue Light is it's typical hole in the wall self, except for the lights and the music, which are a little brighter and a little more upbeat, and the dance floor that's been cleared in the main room. But there are plenty of tables and chairs that have been pushed against the walls for when someone wants to take a break, and the bar is always available for anyone who may want a drink.
And Blue is passing through the crowds. Even though his staff is working tonight he seems to be doing every job; serving, bartending, playing, and even dancing a little and stopping to say hi to anyone who he may know.
He just hopes that everyone has a good time.

"I'm so glad you came," he says with a smile, and a root beer prepared in hand. He opens it with a careful twist of his hand and hands her the bottle. "Here, have this, first."

"You don't have to sit still! Go out and dance, I'm waiting to be impressed."

She's teasing, though, and looking to see his reaction to that. Partner or not, she'll be out on the floor and dancing soon enough; the music is lively and she knows she won't be able to keep herself in her seat for long.

"Well, once you find him, if he puts his hand anywhere untoward, I have my sword in the back room." He's teasing back. Mostly.

She pauses, regarding Blue thoughtfully for a moment. It's become habit by now, checking on him; so much so that she barely realizes she does it anymore. Is he happy? Is he enjoying himself? It seems that way, tonight. "Managing all this won't keep you too busy to dance a little yourself, tonight, will it?"
Pre-competition
Blue is enjoying himself, and he nods when she mentions dance. "Oh, well," he says, drawing it out a little, "I suppose I could find time, if you asked me."
Pre-competition
Her grin quickly turns into a look of mock-annoyance. "If I ask you?" she continues playfully. "Well! Since when is it the duty of the lady to ask her gentleman for a dance?"
Pre-competition
But at her comment he nods his head affably. "Well," he points out, "you're a modern woman, aren't you?"
Pre-competition
"I do endeavor to be, on occasion," she replies. "Would that be the appropriate course of action, then, for a modern woman in a situation like mine?"
Pre-competition
"Well, you would take my hand and you would pull me on to the dance floor without another word," he explains. It's not that he wants Rosella to become a modern woman, per say, because in truth he's charmed by her own personal style and slightly old-fashioned manners.
Pre-competition
"Just don't tell me that being a modern woman means I have to lead," she adds as she tugs Blue along. "You're much too good at it, yourself, and I know I couldn't compete!"
