Log; Ongoing
When; Tuesday evening.
Rating; PG-13 for some upsetting themes.
Characters; Gwen Cooper (
protect_them), Owen Harper (
wankersometimes) and Ianto Jones (
king_coffee)
Summary; Ianto hasn't known the full story for a long time. Gwen needs to tell him.
Log;
There was a lot about the situation that Ianto didn't know. He didn't know that Jack was in the City, and had been for a few days, and although he knew that the 456 had been defeated, and that all the children were safe, he didn't know exactly how that had been achieved.
While he would usually want to know, he'd had a lot of other things on his mind, and as he'd been sleeping a lot and concentrating on getting better, he hadn't thought to ask.
But as time went on, he began to think like he usually did. And he began to wonder.
For that moment, though, he was sitting up in the bed - yes, he'd refused to relinquish those pillows - and attempting a crossword. He was rather pleased that the words were getting away from him less and less, and he could complete it.

He shot Gwen a dirty look for her troubles. "Oh, but you get to speak to him, right?" He shrugged off the touch again.
"Let me guess, he's in the TARDIS. He's completely predictable sometimes." It was getting to the point where he was going to pull out all the wires and tubes himself. "OWEN GET YOUR ARSE HERE NOW," he yelled again.

"Ianto Jones. You need to back down now. If you don't, I'll have Owen sedate you until you listen to reason."
The gentle expression was gone from her face, replaced by one she'd learned from her time with Torchwood.
Stone.

Yank. Out went his IV, and he pulled the heart monitor clip off his finger before chucking it hard across the room.
Yes. He was having a bit of a tantrum.
"Let go of me." And he sat up again. It as a struggle, but he did it.
[ooc: Okay with Owen jumping in after this? Figured the flatline from the monitor would grab his attention]

He burst through the clinic door to find Ianto struggling with Gwen, the I.V. line dangling and spilling saline all over the floor, heart monitor tab beside it and all the machines wailing.
"What the bloody hell is going on here?"
no subject
"Sedate him, Owen. I'll explain why later."
no subject
"Jack's in the City, and none of you told me," he said angrily, knocking Gwen's arm away again, "and I swear if you sedate me Owen, I will make your time here in the City hell. I want this catheter out."
no subject
Not the time. Ianto was going to undo all his work if he kept flailing around like that. Owen grabbed at his syringe pack and make a quick decision.
"Right, Gwen I need you to hold him down for this. Ianto, that's no way to treat a pregnant lady."

"Get off" he ground out.

In his condition, it wouldn't take very long to come into effect.
"Gwen, you okay?"

The whole I.V. would have to be done, and another bag hung. He snarled while he sorted it out.
"Mind telling me what the fuck that was about?"
no subject
"Jack's in the City and has been since Friday. I told Ianto what was going on.... all of it."
no subject
"You told him? Well done, PC Cooper. Now he's gonna be bloody impossible until he half kills himself trying to go see Jack. I can't keep him sedated 24/7, you know."
no subject
".... he would've found out soon enough. Kyle saw Jack and I knew it was just a matter of time."
no subject
"Just because he can blink at you and talk, doesn't mean he's well. The idiot can't even sit up for half an hour at a time, and his temp spiked to 103 today. If he tries to leave the clinic, he'll relapse. Do I have to remind you that him immune system is absolute shit right now?"

She finally looked up, face blank and tight and almost eerily a mirror to a familiar expression that Jack had worn before.
"Keep him as safely sedated as you can."
no subject
"We need to lock down the room. And you can explain to Kyle why Ianto can't have any visitors anymore."

It was all such a bloody mess. Why the hell was Jack playing keep away when he knew they were here and needed him? And why did Gwen think this was something Ianto needed to know right now? They all knew what Ianto was like. Stupidly devoted and stubbornly loyal, to point of insanity. With Jack in the picture, there'd be no reasoning with him. They would just have to keep him restrained and sedated and probably set his progress a whole week back doing it too.
He glared at the unconscious man and tightened the restraints. This was all they needed. Yet another disaster.
