Log; Incomplete

When; August 1st, a little after midnight
Rating; R
Characters; Marishka [livejournal.com profile] toobad_sosad and Solomon [livejournal.com profile] favoritetraitor
Summary; Time to meet Marishka's "little" pet.
Log; It occurred to her that Solomon had not met her Sweet. Strange to think of it now. Humming, she turned from where she was sitting at the window and went inside. Her things had stopped flying. That was good. It had been annoying that they had been.

Silently, she moved through the apartment until she reached his office. Going inside, she seemed to glide to his side and knelt next him. A hand reached out to touch his leg as she looked up at his face.

Family. That was what he was to her. Some didn't understand that. She would never tell them why she thought the way she did.

"Solomon is busy? Perhaps a break to see something new? You could like it a lot. And it is a new place to go."

She smiled up at him sweetly as she spoke. As if the idea she had excited her and she wanted to share it with him.

She smiled, her eyes lighting up with a child like delight. He couldn't help but to let it infect his mood, his own expression softening from the feelings stirred up by such cuteness.

Nearing the surface, the Chevalier slowed, allowing the world around them to return to normal. Even from a distance his senses had detected movement up ahead. This world was far more dangerous than the one he had come from, and considering what had happened to Marishka and the over zealous hunters in the area, discretion was advised.

Gently placing her on her feet once more, he smiled and took her hand, leading her the rest of the way out of the subway tunnels. Solomon lowered his voice, a soft whisper as he explained. "Humans... let's not draw attention to ourselves. I have more I want to show you..."

After a few minutes, they exited into the cool night air once again. The stars and moon shone dimly overhead, casting the world below in darkened shades of blue. It was a perfect night for what the Chevalier had planned... still, in the back of his mind he couldn't help but to feel a tinge of nervousness.

It was strange, feeling such a thing over something so trivial. But then, he'd never really cared about how someone who was not of his family would react to seeing what he would show them. If this one particular person rejected him... what was left?

Sweet was the one who had really decided things in his mind. What was there to be nervous about after having witnessed such a display?

To all appearances, he was calm, confident, not a moment betraying any trepidation that he felt. His eyes slid over to watch her, a pleasant smile firmly affixed to his face as they rounded a corner into a darkened alleyway. "Tell me... Are you enjoying your evening so far?"

His head tilted, listening to the excitement in her voice. How nice it was to have someone take such an interest in him, especially when it wasn't due to his looks, or what she could get out of him. Marishka didn't have such motives, at least not that he'd ever been able to pick up on. She was too innocent for that...

“Almost...” Smiling, he reached out a lazy hand to lift a curling length of her golden hair between his fingers. It was an idle gesture, twirling the silken curl around his finger. A sensual indulgence on his part. She wasn't Saya... but she was here, and quite attentive to his needs.

Stirring from his thoughts, he brought the digit twined in her hair up to his lips (for just a moment) before letting it fall back down against her silk clad body. His eyes focused intently on her, his voice playful. “Come...”

The next moment he was gone, launching himself upwards towards the rooftop.

Facing away, he awaited her arrival. It took but a moment, but even with eyes focused on the sky, he could feel the movement of her body behind him. She was quick. Stealthy. Capable. It was strange to the Chevalier, having someone who wasn't technically in the family be able to keep up with him like that...

It was... interesting. Fun...

Gazing up at the moon, he brushed his hair back from his eyes. "Hmm, yes. Here." Glancing back over his shoulder, he studied her face. "Marishka... tell me. What do your senses say about me?"

His mouth curved in a soft smile. It was as he had expected, nothing more, nothing less. "Yes. We are very much alike..."

Both were chosen to ascend from humanity to serve in one form or another to a higher being, whether it was merely as a consort, or in his case, a protector as well. Their abilities likewise, mirrored each other. Flight, superior senses, speed and strength...

Solomon often mused with the thought that it was merely a matter of semantics that separated their species, although the differences between them made it unlikely. Perhaps a more apt description of what they were would have been 'cousins'... It hardly mattered. They were close enough to be seen as equals.

"Marishka..." He turned to her still smiling, his body back lit the moon's silvery light. "Would you like to see me in my Chiropteran form? You would be the first and only one here in the City to have seen it..."

A gift for the growing bond between them.

He gazed at Marishka for a few moments, relishing the apparent pleasure playing upon her beautiful features. It would be a shame if she were disappointed, or even worse disgusted by what she'd be witnessing. Still, the Chevalier was confident that she wouldn't react in such a negative way. Especially not after seeing the affection the vampiress showed to her pet monster...

He tilted his head, the smile never wavering from his face despite the slight hesitation that he was feeling. It was rude to keep a lady waiting, even if he had been enjoying teasing her as he had...

"Alright..." The smile slid from his face, sobering as he watched her during his transformation. There was never any pain, not since he'd become a Chevalier so many decades before. But his body shifted, muscles contracting and growing as his human appearance slid away. It was a fluid change. Quick.

But his eyes never left Marishka as if he was searching for some change in her reaction. Within moments, there was nothing left of his original form. Standing a few feet taller than before, he peered out with glowing red eyes, his wings shuddering slightly as he adjusted to his other form.

Tilting his head, he allowed her touches. She was different from the myriad of other women who had attempted to take such liberties. Marishka was someone he could confide in, someone he could trust to come to his aid if he should need it. She was someone whose company he enjoyed... someone he actually had grown to care about. It was a shame that their fate was destined in different directions... still, they could enjoy each other with the time they had...

“Yes.... my speech is unhindered, even like this.”

Her hands slid along his shoulders, fingertips trailing down his wings. It was... distracting in quite an unexpected way. “... Does my surprise... please you?”

It was hard to discern actual facial expressions in a chiropteran form. Their hide was thick. Armored for fighting. All the better to protect their queen from harm...

But her comments pleased him. He liked seeing the childlike delight spill over her beautiful features. It made him want...

Shoving aside those thoughts, he focused on her words.

"Yes. And it's a lovely night for such a thing, isn't it?

[identity profile] favoritetraitor.livejournal.com 2009-08-13 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
Beautiful, he thought. Simply beautiful, the way she soared on the winds. Her pale wings outstretched to the night...

It was curious how similar they were. A Chevalier, intended mate of a Chiropteran Queen... chosen, just as Marishka had been chosen to be the mate of what sounded to be a Vampire King. Their status seemed equally placed, and he found himself drawn to find out more. Already, he'd begun asking questions about her master and his little family...

A blur of motion and he took to the skies in pursuit of the lovely Marishka. Her games were more to his liking than Diva's had been. Of course, with the police device firmly wrapped around her ankle, she had no choice in the matter but to behave. It'd be interesting to see what she'd do when released. Still, he was hopeful.

Life would be so much more pleasant with her if she could learn to control her impulses. Or at the very least learn more discretion in her actions.

Increasing the strength of each beat of his wings, he raced to catch up with her. There was a certain freedom to flight, something that he hadn't quite realized he'd missed until this moment. But now that the vampiress was party to one of his little secrets, he could take advantage of it by taking her flying more often.

It'd be good for them both to get out of the apartment more often, and with the move to the upper floors of a penthouse suite, both of them would have an easier time of taking to the skies without calling attention to themselves. That is, if Marishka chose to stay with him after the police released her from his care.

Something he'd have to ask her when the time was right...

The distance closed, but she was used to the intricacies of aerial maneuvering. Time and again she flitted away just as his wing was about to touch her. His eyes narrowed, chiropteran features subtly twisting in what another of his kind might recognize as amusement. He liked a bit of a challenge, and found the playfulness of this little game of hers exciting.

Perhaps it was something instinctual, the thrill of chasing after her across the skies. Solomon was never one to go 'hunting'. It was nothing he ever had an interest in, considering himself above such activities. His blood, he preferred served in a wine glass. And as for mating, well... he preferred to 'court' the object of his desire.

Still... this entertaining romp did something to stir deeper emotions. Enticing him with her abilities, enchanting him with her beauty, seducing his thoughts by her mere nature. And even more bewitching was the fact that Marishka reveled in what she was, unlike his reticent and wayward Saya. His beloved could learn a lot from the vampire. Assuming they could get over their hostilities towards each other...

Solomon's eyes followed the vampiress' every movement, calculating where she might go next. His body was a streak of motion as he dived after her, a blur that any normal human would be unable to follow. If he was right, she would pull out of her swan dive at the last minute, a ploy to see if he could do the same before crashing to the ground. She would not be disappointed.

The tips of his wings brushed along the altered flesh of her leg for but a moment... And then she was gone, whisked away by a sudden skillful maneuver on the winds. He was close. So very close. But if he hadn't pulled back at the last second, chances are he'd have taken her with him as he crashed into the ground. Her weight, as light as it was, would have seen to that considering their momentum and proximity to the beach.

Twisting his body, he used his powerful wings to lessen his impact on the earth below. His attempt to turn wasn't as graceful as Marishka's... but it served its purpose enough that he was able to put his legs under him in time to touch the ground. The sand created twin craters at his feet as he pushed himself upward to continue his pursuit of the lovely vampiress.

He would catch her. She was his... it was only a matter of time.
