Summary; Mercy goes to talk Thomas into leaving the hospital and coming to the Across the Universe party.

She wasn't sure she'd have any luck at all, but Mercy decided she'd try and drag Thomas at of the hospital for a while. He had asked her to the Across the Universe party, so she thought she'd try to use that as an excuse to get him to go.

So, here she was, dressed up more than usual, clicking down the hallway to Anthony's room. She paused in the doorway. "Hey," she said softly. "How's he doing?"

Thomas had been dozing and looked up suddenly when Mercy spoke. He looked confused as he took her in. She was dressed nicely.

"Huh? Where are you going all dressed up?"

Mercy raised an eyebrow. "End of the Universe party? You talked me into going with you?"

End of the Universe party? No, that wasn't right...

"You mean the Across the Universe party? That isn't until Monday."

"Across, right," Mercy shook her head. "Terrible with names sometimes. And you're right. Today's Monday."

She ducked her head. "It's okay, though. I understand if you don't want to go. I can just sit here with you for a while." She reached down to slip one of her shoes off and then reached for the other.

Thomas expression when completely blank. It was Monday? Seriously? How had he forgotten? How had he lost two days? He looked to Anthony, locked in a sleep that wouldn't end, and found his answer. Was sitting here solving anything?

"Do you want to go?"

"Not alone," she said quietly.

"I wouldn't ask you to go alone." He took one last look toward the bed before standing. "I need to run by my place first though, to change."

She nodded, slipping her shoe back on. "That's fine."

He smiled fondly. "You're way too understanding of me, sometimes. You know that right?"

Mercy shrugged. "I think you're worth it."

He chuckled as he headed for the door. "Maybe one day I'll believe you."

"I'm patient," she assured him with a grin.

He laughed quietly. "Saintly, even."

That got a big laugh. "Oh, I assure, you, I'm no saint!"

He smiled in kind. "Good, because if you were even close, I'd have to call this whole thing off."

"Too boring, huh?"

"Too unsafe for the demon in me."

She paused and looked at him. "Then we'll just have to make sure I stay unsaintly."

He smiled slyly. "I can think of a few ways."

"Now, now," she said with a luagh. "Let's get you ready for a night out first!"

"Yes, ma'am." Chuckling, he followed her lead.

She looked over at him. "It's nice to see you smiling."

He chuckled slightly, but looked down. "Part of me feels guilty for it. Is that lame or what?"

"It's totally understandable," she said. "But for tonight, it's okay to just enjoy an evening away. Anthony would understand."

"Yeah." He sounded sad at first, but a slow smile spread across his face. "Yeah. You're right."
