Log; open
When; Saturday, August 12th
Rating; G-NC-17?
Characters; Open!
Summary; The Blue Light turns 1.
Log;
The Blue Light is decorated; it's got it's usual jazz style but tonight there's some more to it; curtains and tables all look a little bit dated, because they are. Where Blue and Promise found the furnishings for this particular party is something that both of them won't tell, but it looks terrific.
There are corners to hide in and corners to party in, and good music and good booze. It's a party!

Open;
So Blue doesn't talk about that. Instead he looks around and tips his head a bit. It's not exactly like the 1920's...a lot of things were different. "Well," he finally says. "It's close enough to make me homesick for it. Timesick? Something like that," he says. It really was Blue's favorite twenty years, the time between the 1920's and the 1940s.
Open;
"You fit," she says, regarding him thoughtfully. "The music and the merriment and all...it's just right for you, somehow." It's just like Blue, come to think of it--a little bit jazz, a little bit blues, and a little bit swing, all rolled into one. "So I hope you're having fun tonight, too, because I know I certainly am."
Open;
He finally does steal her drink and takes a long sip, then hands it back, mostly intact. "I am having fun, Rosella. I always have fun." He wonders sometimes if he's transparent, if people know how sad he really is under the smile. But he smiles anyway. Rosella makes him happy.
"Where do you fit?"
Open;
Where does she fit? But what comes to mind as she considers the question aren't visions of places; no, she's thinking of faces, and laughter, and warmth, and fingers in her hair.
"With my friends," she answers, without opening her eyes.
Open;
Blue wonders if he belongs with his friends. Fly and Pinocchio are both his friends, and good friends, but back in Fabletown he was friendly with many but not exactly friends with everyone, and that was okay. He sets Rosella down from her spin, so lightly her heels won't even click when they hit the floor.
"Don't you think?"
Open;
It's strange how she doesn't mind it at all when it's Blue, and yet for just about anyone else, she'd bristle at that implication.
"I suppose I could," she says playfully. "I'm with you, aren't I?"
Open;
He tilts his head a little. "Well, I have been known to be good company. I don't think that it happens particularly often anymore," he states, squeezing her just a little. "Only for a rare few."
Open;
"But what do you do about the rest? Do you make silly faces at them, and that's why you're bad company?" she continues, unable to resist the opportunity to tease him a little. "They say your face will stick that way if you do it too often, you know."
Open;
He lifts his chin just a bit, to point to the party. "Don't you want to get back out there? I know someone should be itching to dance with you, or at least to tell you how lovely you look."
Open;
"Well, only if you insist," she replies. But there is one last thing she meant to tell him, and she ought to do it before she forgets, so-- "Oh, and I saw your Miss Alice on the Network the other day. You were right, I do like her, and very much so."
Open;
Blue had been lonely for a long time. Maybe having Alice stay with him would help that. "I hope you can be her friend."
Open;
"It won't be difficult at all," she confesses. "Really, it sounds silly to say it, but...she rather reminds me of myself, in a way. She seems wonderfully clever, and spirited, and adventurous...no, it won't be hard at all to be her friend, if she'll have me. I like her very much already."
Open;
Blue nods, and pushes her a little towards the dance floor. "I'll be here when you finish," he tells her.
Open;
"Happy anniversary, Blue," Rosella says with a light touch to his arm, and with one last smile, begins to make her way to the dance floor. Blue insisted, after all, and who is she to disappoint?
