Summary Vicki lost a bet so she owes Harry dinner.
Log
Harry would have felt bad about making Vicki take him out to dinner except he was too smug about being right. Of course, he would have preferred to be wrong about one of her enemies coming to the City if it wasn't for the whole, "I'll wear a dress" deal he made.
Harry figured he at least owed her the courtesy of showing up in a suit jacket and slacks though if she had to wear a dress. Of course, being so formal might have made it seem like something more, but Harry wasn't going to think on that.
Arriving outside her door, Harry knocked on it and waited so that they could walk to the restaurant together.

Arriving outside her door, Harry knocked on it and waited so that they could walk to the restaurant together.

Hearing him knock, she walked over to the door and opened it for him. Vicki found herself pleasantly surprised. She had thought she'd be the only one dressed up because of the bet, but he had shown up looking quite the gentlemen. Glad that she wasn't going to be overdressed, she couldn't help but smile at him.
"Hi Harry. Ready to go?"
no subject
"I think so," he said, offering her his arm. "The restaurant isn't too far from here. I really hope you like Italian food, by the way."
no subject
"Italian food sounds great."
She usually went out for Chinese but she was fine with Italian food as well. Vicki remembered going out for it once or twice back home as well.
"Have you been to this restaurant before or is it new for you as well?
no subject
"I'm not exactly the adventurous type when it comes to food in the City," he confessed. "Especially when a lot of the residents here aren't human."
no subject
"I don't blame you. I've never thought about it though....have you seen any specialty restaurants here yet? Other than normal ones that is."
no subject
"Actually, a few times I went into a place to get spell supplies, I thought they were kind of like supply stories but they were actually restaurants," he said, wincing a bit at the memory.
no subject
Tony had warned her about the dangers of that place when she arrived. He had certainly stressed about the nature of the things down there. She made a disgusted face at the thought of spell supplies coming from 'restaurants'.
"..What kind of supplies do you need that they could ever possibly be found in a restaurant? Even a strange restaurant."
no subject
"Eye of newt isn't just for spells in Shakespearean plays."
no subject
She had truthfully not expected that sort of ingredient to be real. Of course, her knowledge was mainly from what she'd read in books and things she'd seen Tony do.
"Magic is still new to me, even though I used to live with Tony," she mused. It was surprising what he had known, especially since he knew none of that from the time she knew him from. "I've also usually only seen it used for bad things at home."
no subject
That was probably one of the more clever ideas that the White Council had come up with.
"And we're just about to the restaurant."

Although she didn't understand the court system Harry was using, she assumed it had to do with different types of vampires that lived in his world. She only knew about them from being here in the City and the ones she'd heard about weren't the friendly kind.
"That wasn't too far of a walk at all. It's good to know of a place this close to home."
no subject
"It's definitely worth visiting. I like staying here for a while, sometimes I bring case notes to work on."
[ooc: No worries, I'm having fun with it!]

Walking through and thanking him, she waited until he'd joined her before continuing.
"You get cases here to solve?" Although technically she wasn't an investigator here, hearing about possible cases piqued her interest.

When the hostess came to seat them Harry asked for a table for two and followed the woman to their seats.
"A few for the police force, a few private cases. Nothing much but it keeps me busy."
no subject
Following along to their seats, she took her seat before carrying on the conversation.
"I didn't know they gave out cases like that.."

"Part time on the force...not bad. Maybe I should try to apply for something like that, I have been meaning to get a job."
no subject
"Besides, carrying around a jar is really conspicuous. And if you're serious about joining the force part time, you should stop by the station."
no subject
She really wanted to see it now. How would it even be possible to get sunshine, let alone keep it in a handkerchief or jar. Vicki decided she's figure it out one day.
"The station? I think I may have seen it once on the map. Is it far from here?"
She did need a job and it really wouldn't hurt to do something she used to be good at. Vicki wasn't sure though, she didn't want to desk work but she knew her eyes were no good in the dark or without glasses.
no subject
"And no, not too far, it's relatively centrally located in the City."
no subject
"That is empty right?" She was certainly not wanting to find out what opening a handkerchief filled with sunshine was like.
"That's not too bad then. Maybe I'll stop by one of these days and see what's needed for applying."
no subject
"Why don't you open it up and see?" he told her.
no subject
"Maybe you should..."

no subject
"You know I never would've believed it if I hadn't just seen it."
