Summary Vicki lost a bet so she owes Harry dinner.
Log
Harry would have felt bad about making Vicki take him out to dinner except he was too smug about being right. Of course, he would have preferred to be wrong about one of her enemies coming to the City if it wasn't for the whole, "I'll wear a dress" deal he made.
Harry figured he at least owed her the courtesy of showing up in a suit jacket and slacks though if she had to wear a dress. Of course, being so formal might have made it seem like something more, but Harry wasn't going to think on that.
Arriving outside her door, Harry knocked on it and waited so that they could walk to the restaurant together.

She assumed everyone would just watch it at home, unless of course you didn't have one.
"Wait..you don't have a TV?"

"My magic causes problems with technology. I would fry any TV I got too close to. So I stand outside the store and watch them sometimes."
no subject
She had never thought that magic could do that. It must have been hard for him then since he could probably not have used a lot of things she used daily.
"If your magic causes the problem though, how come your Network device is still working?"
He used it, she knew it was fine, but if his magic caused problems with TVs, why didn't it affect the device?

"I don't know, it's the only thing that works," he said. "I think it's part of just how the City functions. If I didn't have the device I wouldn't be able to participate in all the angst."
no subject
It seemed everyone had the device at least, although it wasn't always useful. She figured the deities must have found a way to make it work around him, despite his magic.
"That does make sense. After all, how could the deities take pleasure out of watching you suffer if it was never on the Network?"

Really, he didn't miss it and it only bothered him because it bothered other people and inconvenienced them.

She had seen that enough times in the curses that they brought in. Some of them were a lot more complex than she would've thought and there was never an easy way to avoid them.
"I think there's enough excitement around here as is without including technology. You don't even really need to watch TV here, just look at the Network on a curse day."

"Although I suppose it's better than being turned into a man for a day."

"And I've never minded turning into a woman, although I never remember it after I do," Harry said, pausing for a moment. "Although from what I understand, my female form is very upset to find out she's really a man."

"It all just feels normal to me."

She'd found it almost like being in someone else's body for a day since parts of it were so unfamiliar to her. She'd never been a man before and had never even considered certain things until that day.
