Log; Ongoing
When; Wednesday evening
Rating; PG
Characters; Tony Stark {
idmakeitaweek} and Reinette {
fireplacegirl}
Summary; Tony asks Reinette to meet him at Lux for drinks and conversation, and she accepts.
Log;
Reinette slipped quietly out of the TARDIS. She hadn't seen the Doctor in a few hours, and assumed he was in one of the TARDIS's many rooms, still reeling from the arrival of the other Doctor. Best not to disturb him.
She removed the network device from her pocket and, after a few moments of fiddling with it, pulled up a map of the City. Nearly a month there, and she still had trouble finding her way about. The path to the library was one she could probably walk in her sleep, but the way to Lux was one she was unfamiliar with, having been only once before.
With some difficulty, Reinette found the bar, though at nearly fifteen minutes past the half hour they had agreed upon. She waded through the crowd inside the bar, searching for the face from the network. He wasn't hard to find; there were mostly women sitting at the bar tonight.
She put a light hand on his shoulder, offering up a smile. "Mr. Stark?"

She put a light hand on his shoulder, offering up a smile. "Mr. Stark?"

She admires how light he is on his feet. "You praise my skill in dance but neglect to praise your own. Where did you learn to dance so well."

"It turns out with money and power there's a necessity for charity balls, parties and other things that require dancing. It's a skill I picked up along the way."
no subject
"It matters to me not so much where you learned to dance, but that you enjoy it. I have known many a man at court who, even with a beautiful woman drawn close to him," she says, pulling him a bit closer for emphasis, "still cannot bring himself to enjoy a dance."

Just for flare he whirls her around again, not missing that she pulled him closer. "I enjoy dancing almost as much as I enjoy beautiful women."

Reinette thoroughly enjoys the turns he takes her through, unconventional of the waltz she's used to. "If only we had more men like you in Versailles," she laments with a smile and a shake of her head. "I should never be paired with a stiff, wooden partner ever again."

"Mmmmhm, I think one of me is enough for any world but as soon as I figure out time travel I'll be happy to visit."
no subject
"All your knowledge and you have not yet figured out time travel?" she asks, feigning shock. Then, with a laugh: "Believe it or not, I know someone who might be able to assist you with that."
no subject
"It's messy and theoretical and I'd need a burst of power beyond anything I've experimented with not to mention it would have to be portable," he says. He's thought a bit about this simply because he gets bored and he thinks of things he could build theoretically. He quirks an eyebrow at Reinette's revelation. "Really?"

"And I hardly have everything here."
The music ends and Tony dips Reinette a bit, holding her securely before he pulls her back up. "More wine? Or more dancing?"

She pulls away slightly, slipping her arm in his. "If the hour is not too late, then perhaps there is time for both. Or at least for the former. I do not wish to tire you of my company on the first day."
no subject
"I think we can manage both. Late isn't something I'm concerned with. It's the early part of the day that I try to avoid."
He leads her back to the table and pours another glass of wine for her and orders a fresh scotch for himself.

"If you are unable to solve this conundrum, then you are in my debt in the amount of a week of evenings with you, spaced out however I like. I hope you do not find that too harsh."
