Dean pulls the Impala up behind the building Sam is in and dials the kid's number. He sits and waits for him to come out, engine idling. He's got a couple of six packs of beer in the back of the car and half a pie that Jo brought for him. They're set to wait out termin-angel.

"Come on Sammy," he mutters and fiddles with the radio until AC/DC 'Highway to Hell' comes up.

"Well, with how many times we've been hit in the head since then, I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't," Sam laughs a little, grabbing the cap before it hits him and whipping it back at his brother. Had Dean brought up the lawyer thing a year or so, Sam might've gotten offended or saddened, but he had long since accepted this life. Law school is a thing of the past, and even if they did defeat Lucifer and stop the Apocalypse, he probably wouldn't go back to it. He's pretty much made up his mind to stick with Dean for as long as he could.

Dean catches the bottle cap nearly smacking himself in the face as he did. He tossed it back at Sam with a soft chuckle. "Yeah you're still a giant freakishly smart geekboy. Don't worry." There's a lot of pride in his words. More pride than insult even. Dean would trade it all in for an apple pie life. Of course in his apple pie life, Sam lives no further than the house next door.

Sam catches it again, something of a game started now as he throws it back, "Whatever, dude. Don't expect this giant to come defend you when someone finally sues your ass." Sam'd only want that apple pie life if it wasn't anything like the Djinn illusion. No amount of money or success would ever make up for not being best friends with his brother. Nothing is worth losing that.

Dean chuckles and catches the bottle cap. Now that they've got a rhythm down it's fairly easy to keep up the game. "Dude you would so defend my ass. The only thing worth taking is the Impala and you're not going to let that happen." Because that's home to Sam as much as it is to Dean.

"Oh, no way. Dad would kill both of us," Sam jokes, but he still says it fondly. The Impala is the most important thing to ever exist, right? And as long as they had her, it didn't matter where in the country they went; they always had home right there with them. And John really would kill them if they lost it, which Sam might not really mind cuz it'd give them a chance to see him again.

Dean chuckles and nods, taking a sip of his beer. "Yeah. He'd probably come back from the grave to do that."
