Summary; Tony promised Reinette dinner with him and his wife (Scotch) and then Jarvis opened his big mouth and mentioned Tony's cooking so he has his first house guest
Log;

The amount of time Tony had spent cooking was was obscene. He'd started around lunch and made the goat cheese salads. Then the dessert--Tiramsu and finally the entree, shrimp capricco. He'd purposely tried to steer away from French food.

Reinette is the first guest Tony has had to his beach house. It's still not entirely decorated but he's paid Natasha overtime to get it at least halfway there. The living room where he's set up a small table is mostly done, minus some of the smaller touches. All in all, he's settling in rather nicely.

"JARVIS, let me know when she arrives. I'm going to change," Tony says as he heads upstairs toward the mostly unfinished bedroom.

Of course, Mr. Stark.

Integrating JARVIS into the house had been his first priority once he'd found the place.

She is silent for a moment, considering his words. What did he mean by- She thinks it better, perhaps, not to ask. "I think I shall have to get creative and choose some activities other than dinner and dancing. And ones that also do not involve leather or whips for that matter," she adds with a laugh. "I have made my winnings fairly and intend to make the most of them. And I feel we should waste no opportunity in a world such as this one, when there are so many wonders to see. Ah- Perhaps we should make a trip to Xanadu; I hear it is quite beautiful this time of year."

"You seem to have made a habit of being a hermit. I hope you have not made an exception only for me. I intend to socialize you yet," she says, returning his laugh. "Though I honestly cannot condemn you when I spend so much time in the library."

"I can certainly understand finding distraction in activities that remind you of home. I hope said distraction has earned you progress in your endeavours; I know very little about technology, but it sounds as if you have done quite well already with JARVIS." She follows his line of sight to the house. "How lovely a party would be. Something to take everyone's minds of the City and its curses. And who better to host it than you?"

"I imagine they do not tend towards the tame. Then again, I would expect no less from you. I hope you are not so sick of me so as to not extend an invitation; how disappointed I would be," she says with a laugh, pulling up her skirts just a bit more as the water laps at her ankles.

"It is my wish for you that you may make the City feel as much like your hope as possible while are here. It is my fondest wish that all might return home, but I know I will not be granted that."

"I shall be looking forward to said delivery. And I can confirm my attendance even before you deliver it." She meets his eye and smiles.

"Given the differences between my world and this one, it has been somewhat difficult. That is part of the reason I spend so much time in the library: it seems that, no matter the differences in time and worlds, books never change. To be fair, the content is different, but the basics remain the same." She looks out at the sea, silent for a moment. When she speaks again, her voice is soft and wistful. "Truthfully, I have been disappearing into other worlds long before I came here."

Reinette considers for a moment the TARDIS. A majority of the rooms are nothing like she's ever seen before. The control room, especially, is full of things she is all but terrified to touch. The Doctor had once tried to explain what each individual button, lever, and doodad did, but most of it was lost on her. But her room, on the other hand, her room was home. The TARDIS had created a room for her that mirrored her own in France, down the clock perched on the fireplace mantle.

"In some ways," she answers. "Certain aspects of my home remind me of events that happened to me in my world," she says, referencing the similarities between the flashing lights and wires of the TARDIS and those of the spaceship bearing her name, "while others are alien, and others yet would not be out of place in my world."

"What do you mean by 'people like us'? It seems you have quite the advantage over me, with all your knowledge of technology. I am knowledgeable of horses, not electric carriages. Books, not televisions. What share we in common?" Reinette asks. She follows his gaze to his home. "We must do what we can, I think. If we need be here, then my goal is to make my stay as joyous and like home as possible. I must sound terribly redundant by now, as many times as I have said that. Perhaps I am trying to reassure myself," she says with a smile.

"I suppose that would describe me, yes. Not an admirable trait in a woman in my time. We should be seen and not heard," she explains, laughing. "But how else would one advance in life without bending a few rules or having a certain amount of determination?"

"A shame; I had hoped society would have changed after my time so as to allow women a bit more freedom. There are times when I must and do hold my tongue - a time and place, you know - but I prefer conversation and debate over submissive silence."

She nods as she listens to his explanation. "I see. So while women have increased opportunity, it is not always they case that others feel they should take advantage of it. Some progress is quite better than none."

"I think I might enjoy your time, then. It would be nice to not be told that everything I do is not acceptable behaviour from a woman. That I need learn my place," she says with mock sternness, shaking her finger as if admonishing someone.

She joins him in the laugh. "Is that so? I am afraid I might be too technologically inept. Though I am sure I could learn."

"The ability to adapt is an important one. If I am in possession of that ability at all, I owe it to experience." She returns his smile before looking back down the shore. "We have walked a good distance down the beach. Should we turn back?"
