Summary; After coming home from his first day as being a Brave Vesperia member, Connell waits for Tyr to come home himself. He decided to properly thank Tyr for helping him settle in and even find this job - by baking cookies for him!
Log; After finally finishing up in the kitchen, Connell sat down a chair in the living room to ease his knees and legs from the long day so far. The weather today was slightly hot, so he can't help himself but to remove his black beret off the top of his head and started to gently fan himself with it as he waited and relaxed for the moment.

Over the minute, Connell eventually leaned back and then glanced up the room's clock to check on the time. He wondered when the others would come home. Even though he baked cookies for Tyr, he wouldn't forget to share with Luc and Riou, too - of course! Whenever they decide to come out, they'll be handed their own set of cookies. But for now, Connell was expecting the former Tenkai Star that he had barely talked to in the past. (It didn't help that everyone wanted a piece of Tyr back at Dunan Castle!) So, maybe today is a good day to get to know him!

"That's really cute..." Connell said honestly, keeping a bright yet quiet smile on. To imagine Tyr being taken care of by kind-hearted Gremio... he can imagine just how close they are back then, and even now. But it must be sad since Gremio isn't here... He can relate. He's lonely, too... without his family here with him.

"Yes. It'll be fun to learn. Cooking isn't too hard, it just requires a little patience," he added shortly, "I can help you too, Lord Tyr."

Speaking of cooking... he always wondered about something!

"That stew receipe that Lord Riou had received from Lord Gremio... was that your favorite?"

"Cute"... At least he didn't have to comment on that, or there would have been an awkward silence.

Forgetting Connell said that, Tyr nodded, "I think so... I don't know if Riou ever tried to make it before, but..." He was pretty much convinced Gremio was the only one that could make Gremio's stew. ~~Tyr's teasing is the secret ingredient.~~

"Anyway, I'd like to learn how to cook in any case. Gremio's stew might be too complex for me to make, though..."

Connell sensed Tyr's awkwardness, but he's considerate of it, so he also didn't say anything to that further. But still, he can't help to say it honestly. It was cute. Their relationship.

Hearing that from Tyr, he nodded as well, "Lord Riou tried to make it a few times during the cooking competitions... But he didn't manage to make it right. Maybe Lord Gremio should give tips to us, too, someday!"

There's always space for learning for him, too. Even though he already knows... that doesn't mean he can't learn anything further. That's what he always believed.

Saying that, Tyr smiled. "I'm sure he'd try to show Riou the right way to prepare it at least... Gremio has a reputation for being a great cook, so he probably has a lot of tips to share."

He remembered the time they first returned to Gregminster and the group that surrounded the both of them. The war even made Gremio's cooking famous... It left a bit of a bitter-sweet feeling in him. He snatched another cookie from the basket.

Connell nodded to hear that, keeping his smile on.

"I've always wanted to know how his stew tasted like... I hope I will get to, when we meet with him again, someday!"

"Next time Ri..." He quickly corrected himself, "When you come back from Crystal Valley, you're welcome to visit if Gremio and I are still there..."

Ri...? Riou? That mentally made Connell chuckle. Was he being mistaken for Riou now, or does Tyr hang around with Riou too much all this time for him to receive that habit. But with Riou's bubbly attitude, he can't blame Tyr for getting used to it.

"Could I...?" he asked quietly. It's true that he wanted to taste the stew for himself since he heard so much about it, but he also didn't want to be rude to anyone, yet alone trouble them for anything.

Tyr nodded. He wondered if Connell would eventually stop feeling the need to be so formal with him, but he didn't count on it. It had been like this for nearly half a decade, and while it meant a lot of people wouldn't trouble him...

"Don't worry about it, Connell," he assured him.

Perhaps in time when they become closer, with this kind of small setting, living in the same apartment and all, perhaps there will come a day that Connell can feel less obligated to be so formal around both Riou and Tyr. But for now, he still has that shyness to him.

He smiled when Tyr said that to him, nodding once more, "... Thank you very much. I'll look forward to it."

He smiled for encouragement, but Tyr wasn't so sure it would actually happen. With all he had heard of people coming back with no memories of being in the City before, there was no guarantee that, no matter how long he delayed his journey, Connell would drop by. Nevertheless, it was a nice thought.

Tyr fell silent thinking of that, but soon enough looked over to Connell again. "What were you doing in Crystal Valley, anyway?"

"I returned to continue my studies... Even though I've managed this far, I feel there's still so much more I could learn," Connell said calmly and thoughtfully. He's young and he knew. He lacks knowledge due to his inexperience. There's still so much to learn, even after all of his achievements. But he's already learned so much just helping in the Dunan Army. For that, he's immensely grateful.

"There are so many others who are just as skilled, I wish to learn more. To hear their own experiences and opinions in these fields... And as I go along, I hopefully will be able to extend my own knowledge to others."

So that was it... Tyr nodded after he finished explaining it all. Even though he was so young, he had all that to aspire to? He really was a serious kid.

"Do you want to become a phonology teacher later?" he asked. It already sounded like a very scholarly pursuit, but it sounded like the ultimate goal was to teach.

"I... yes, I will look forward a time when I could extend my knowledge to others. But I honestly wish to follow my father's footsteps..." Connell quietly said as he thought of his father, a person who is highly respected for his knowledge in phonology. Connell just wanted to do what he could as this wonderful person's son: to make his father very proud.

"When opportunities such as teaching others come to me, I will gladly accept them. I will keep on moving forward as I remain true to my wish."

Tyr smiled easily at that. He thought, and... He think he remembered hearing about Connell's father before. It reminded him a bit of how he had been when he was younger - not that Tyr was that old! - and... It was nice.

"I see... When we return to our own world, good luck following that wish..."

Connell moved to do a small bow of his head to extend his grateful feelings towards Tyr's encouragement. He'll definitely keep doing his best. Even here, right here in this City.

Perhaps there could be a good reason for him to have ended up here. It might've been startling at first, and still could be a bit scary time to time with those curses, it's not over all that bad. It didn't seem to be. And that was fine.

"... What about you, Lord Tyr? Do you have a particular goal?"

At that question, Tyr gave a pause. At some point he had, but right now he couldn't think of a goal much like what Connell had at all. With a short 'Hmm', he finally answered.

"I'd like to catch a nice, big fish sometime..." he said simply.

"..."

Connell faintly turned his head, moving his fingers to his mouth to stop him from chuckling loudly, managing to tone it down with that gesture. He can't help it. That was such an adorable reply. It's... so much like Tyr. Maybe this is how the real Tyr is like, outside of that idol, hero figure that everyone admired.

"... Then, I hope that you do!"

Don't think Tyr did missed that movement. At least Connell could tell when he was joking, Tyr thought. Taking up his cup and smiling casually, Tyr kept looking towards Connell.

"Thanks. Someday I will... Maybe the fish bite more in the Island Nations..."

"You truly do enjoy fishing..." Connell commented, almost thoughtful, and said with a faint hint of a curious tone.

Someday, he'll want to watch Tyr fishing, or try fishing for himself.

"It's a really relaxing activity," Tyr admitted. "I'm not really good with it yet, but a friend I met here, Katara, helps me actually catch fish..."

For Tyr, perhaps. At that mention, Connell just recalled how Riou always complained how boring fishing was back at the Dunan Castle. He forms an amused smile, then it turned into an impressed one at hearing the latter.

"That person must be so skilled...!"

Riou hasn't changed his opinion since coming to the City, either. And Tyr still fishes alone a lot, and Luc is still... Luc. But at hearing his amazement, Tyr just nodded.

"Yeah, she has some type of water magic... She can just pull fish out of the water."

"Oh, how convenient!"

Just imaginging that, it must've been an interesting watch even for Tyr. He wondered if other worlds also used runes... But then, he's heard of so many foreign magic terms over the network. This just made more curious.

"Yeah. Maybe she'll show you sometime," Tyr said hopefully. "It was amazing to watch..."

All the foreign terms generally went over Tyr's head, though he came to learn some of them. Craymels, artes, bending... How they worked was something else entirely, though.

"Then, I'll look forward to meeting her sometime," Connell said with a smile. And why not? It was nice to know Tyr had so many friends...
